“Company not based in the UK ”

Very Disappointed, the web site stated that any thing ordered by the 18th Dec would be delivered in time for Christmas so went ahead and placed an order on the 16th, thinking that the company would be based in the UK to be able to do this. only to find the company is in China needless to say my order did not arrive in time in face it took them a week to process the order. “Communications poor and misleading. Prices good”

The order updates appear to be a work of fiction, mine went from apparently being "packed for shipment in 1 to 2 days" to "stock being allocated" 6 hours later The Customer Service people who respond to enquiries seem to have no idea what is going on and were still promising to look into my order when it turned out it had been shipped 2 days previously and was actually on the delivery van in my vicinity which I only discovered when it arrived. “Cheap but deceptive”

Unfortunately I had not understood that the business is based in Hong Kong. The prices are low, but the delivery is slow. After you've ordered, you see more readily that delivery might be "4-10 working days". My delivery was, as promised, in 10 working days (I.e. a fortnight). The other problem is that you have to trust to luck as to whether you will have to pay 20% VAT, import duty, and possibly an admin fee to the courier if customs happen to stop it. “deceiving your customers is NOT good service”

a company that holds its stock in Kowloon - Hong Kong! The site features English looking people and an 0844 'local' sales number. But look around the site and there is NO location / address details. Not only that but they sport 'TWO days delivery!'. Funnily enough none of the reviews seemed to reflect that. And after I'd ordered a tablet and was told 10 days for delivery, I called to try and improve this. “Poor delivery system”

Simply electronics say they are partner with some of the biggest names such as DHL, UPS, FEDEX and Royal Mail but they deliver products between 7 to 14 working days. Which means it can take up to 21 days (including weekends). This is absolutely ridiculous. If they improve their delivery chain system, this company can go further but at the moment they suck… Read Full Review

I ordered a camera and received it on 30 April. The camera was set up in chinese, the instruction manual was a photocopy and there were items missing from the box. “Cheap products, but poor communication.”

Whilst the AppleTV was a lot cheaper than other retailers, the experience has been poor. For a start I was not able to put a work address for delivery, which meant the DHL parcel could not be delivered at home and I had to pick it up from the depot 10 miles away. An item which had been suggested to go with the Apple TV (HDMI cable) was the incorrect size, and needed returning. So now into my 4th week of worry and I can now see that my order is in the hands of DHL. PHEW!! Stupidly I didn't research the company before spending almost £300. So I have learned a lesson there. It takes only a few mins to find out just how bad or at least how hit and miss (if the 5 star reviews are to be believed) this company is. “Online and telephone hassle.”

What did I like? The prices, like everyone else I guess. That's all. I have bought goods from other UK companies and some overseas companies with UK operations, including Amazon, Marks & Spencer and John Lewis and all have accepted my credit card payments without delay or fuss and all have delivered goods quickly and efficiently. “almost ruined christmas!”

i ordered a camera early in december, and after that heard nothing. 10 days later i was getting a bit concerned so logged into the website to view the order, which was still listed as 'new'. worried it wasn't going to turn up in time for christmas, i emailed them. it took about a day for the automated response, then another 2-3 days for an actual reply. don't bother ringing, all that happens is you get held in a queue. it says you can put the phone down and ring back, returning to the same… Read Full Review

“bad returns policy”

I have got 5 items with them. Once I have got it I realized that 2 items were wrong size so I have to return and refund those(lens hood and filter). My camera finally arrived exactly four weeks after the order was placed and indeed my PayPal account was charged. This, in internet shopping terms, is way below the standard expected. “Simply Electronics or Simply Terrible?”

It's a bit of gamble dealing with Simply Electronics, with odds at 50/50. Half the time you get good service, half the time it's pretty grim, and there's nothing in between. They also tell porky-pies. The web site showed my order to be in stock, I emailed to confirm and they replied yes it was in stock and could be delivered in 2-7 days.
