My wife and I decided we would look at a Lunar Clubman at Campbell's Lostock Hall site. We didn't intend to buy a new caravan but the experience we had with their salesman was so pleasant we ended up getting the best we could afford. The sales team were not pushy, gave us plenty of time and space and with a complimentary cuppa on our own to consider our options. When we had decided the salesman was very helpful and friendly and offered a reasonable part exchange on our previous caravan and, despite other's comments, this was adhered to when we eventually took ours in. The deed done on a lower spec caravan we left but overnight we changed our minds to the higher specification display model from the showroom. When we phoned up to change our order it was done with no fuss at all and we were given a date to collect. We had noted a couple of minor items that had been damaged during display (a common occurrence)and were assured these would be attended to. Two weeks later we arrived to collect our new caravan and were given the same friendly, courteous service from the salesman and excellent handover man. The caravan was immaculate and ready for us to drive away. The damaged items had been corrected and we were and are delighted with it. Since then we have found two or three missing parts that we think would not have been picked up in the pre-delivery inspection and all it needed was a phone call and they were here a day or two later. When I needed questions answering on specific technical details I was contacted promptly by the head of the Workshop Department who again could not have been more proactive and helpful. We cannot fault Campbells Caravans at all and long may it last. Well done them! And well done to Lunar Caravans for the 2015 Clubman SB we now have. It is a pleasure to own.

“Very Poor Service”

I bought a new caravan from the new site near Kirkham in June, the sales pitch was good as expected, they want your money. After nearly an hour we got a good deal out of them. We was told it would take 2 weeks to get it serviced and cleaned.We went to pick it up all excited as you would be, thinking how nice it would be looking. What a shock as soon as we went in there was coffee stains on work units and the so called cleaning had never been done. We got it home and had to give it a good cleaning. On first trip out the lights in bath room and one in living area would not work, found that there was no bulbs in the lights, then found the 12v plug would not work. On second trip the 13 pin plug on van would not work, it took an hour to try and put it right, lights packed in on way back. Went in and asked campbells if they could spare someone to come and have a look at it, they said no one around to do it as service manager was ill. They said would be a week or two before they could look at it, so went on line a found how to sort it myself, just lucky I could do it. Do not waste your money with them.

“Avoid Campbells Caravans”

We went into Campbells caravans;s in Lostock Hall to look for a newer caravan, we saw one we liked and put a deposit on it, they gave us a price of £4,000 against our caravan, which, I admit they hadnt seen, we arranged to take our caravan in for a appraisal and the offer was dropped to £3,500, because they said there was a damp reading of 35% under one of the windows. Which I might add we new nothing about, we were gutted as we were convinced our van was 100% dry or as near as is possible. We decided we would reconsider and pulled out of the deal. We then saw another caravan at the Kirkham branch and explained fully what had happened and that we had the window rubber replaced to cure the water ingress and was told by an authorised repairer that the board would dry out and problem solved, it wasnt necessary to replace the board as the problem was very minor. We explained everything and the sales man agreed but asked if he may concur our story with the salesman at the Lostock Hall branch and he confirmed fully what we had said. We then say another caravan we liked so entered the process again, we arranged to take the caravan in to swap with a difference of £3500. To which we agreed. The salesman said he would accept the appraisal which had taken place at Lostock Hall and everything was all systems go. We took the caravan in to bring our new one home only to be told the caravan was more damp than they thought and the reading was now 95%, this is within 3 weeks, after the repair and some of the hottest weather we have ever had in the UK, and now they wanted another £700 pounds to swap on top of the £3500 already agreed. I was absolutely livid, as they completely went back on our agreement. Not only did they do it to us they did the same thing to an older couple who were in front of us as well, only they decided to pay. Do not deal with this so called reputable company, they had no intention of honoring this deal, CAMPBELLS CARAVANS ARE DISHONEST AND IMMORAL.

Since I wrote this review campbells have contacted me after I complained bitterly regarding their sales practices, they then did a U turn and honored the original deal, I therefore felt it was only right
that I updated the review.
