“Truly Exemplary Service & Customer Care in All Departments”

Written on: 06/07/2015 by Peage (1 review written)

First chose Campbells to service my Lunar Quasar 556, after receiving trully awful After Sales Service from Catterick Caravans. From Day 1, Campbells have been excellent in all departments; extremely helpful & understanding, doing everything possible to help overcome all problems. Therefore, I decided to buy my new Bailey Unicorn 3 Cadiz from Campbells: they gave me a good PX, transferred my mover & battery to the new van, fitted a new number plate and provided us with the best, most thorough… Read Full Review

“super service from day one”

Written on: 02/07/2015 by AdrielKoenig (1 review written)

We purchased a Sprite Alpine 4 in August 2014. After a trip away a few problems arose, I contacted Campbells to have them sorted under the warranty. No problem except warranty ran out in November I would have no tow car until March. No worries let us know when you have a tow car. I did and they honoured the warranty. Another trip away another issue. No problem they took van back and sorted it all out. I then contacted them because I had an awning given to me only to find one a pole was… Read Full Review

“Best Yet”

Written on: 17/06/2015 by normamason (1 review written)

The service from Campbells is in a class of it's own. Picked up our exchanged caravan on 12th june as arranged. All items that we had put on the (needs doing) list, ALL done including new carpets, our salesman was really great, all the service people were attentive, knowledgeable, efficient and did a great job. Don't believe all the adverse comments on here. We had an excellent experience, we are really happy with the whole of the dealings with Campbells, and would recommend them to anyone. “After Sales Service ”

Written on: 17/06/2015 by EvanHogan (1 review written)

My experience of dealing with Campbells Caravans, Preston has been mixed, very poor until yesterday. Shortly after taking delivery of our brand new Lunar Stellar 2 berth caravan, we noticed that the doors in 2 of the overhead cupboards and also the cupboard in the shower room had an unacceptable gap between the doors. They could not be adjusted so I contacted Campbells Caravans to discuss this and it was agreed that it was a design fault, and that they would send some spacers for the hinges so… Read Full Review

“Campells Service Centre, Layland Lancashire”

Written on: 12/06/2015 by malcolmworley59 (1 review written)

We have just had a week away in our new caravan purchased from Campbells in September. We've had a couple of teething problems in the past but that's to be expected and each time was sorted with minimum fuss! Campbells dealt with it quickly and efficiently. Our holiday recently could have been a disaster as our battery charger packed in on the first day and that would have meant lights, fridge control panel all useless. One phone call to Campbells sorted it out quickly! the person I dealt with… Read Full Review

“Collecting our new Caravan.”

Written on: 11/06/2015

Ok ill get the real negative out of the way right at the start because it wasn't the dealers fault, it was down to Bailey of Bristol who seem to think its OK to promise a delivery date 6 months in the future then fail to deliver on that promise for a further 6 weeks ? In fairness to Campbells this was outside of their control, they communicated the delay promptly and even tried to move things along with Bailey. That aside, the collection date finally arrived and as I had 7 months to prepare I… Read Full Review

“Couldnt be more pleased!”

Written on: 27/05/2015 by leedumbarton (1 review written)

We attended the NEC this year in search of a new caravan to replace a less family focused motorhome. It was a long day but after lots of advice from many of the manufacturers we decided a Lunar was the van for us. We were approached on the Lunar stand by an adviser from Campbells and quickly warmed to his relaxed selling style. I have a back round in sales and tend to shut down to aggressive sales techniques but felt in good hands with him. He told us all about their dealer special Lunar… Read Full Review

“Used Lunar Ultima”

Written on: 28/02/2015 by parkerrich (1 review written)

Collected our van today - 2011 Lunar Ultima 556. When we paid deposit almost 2 weeks ago we were told it would be "fully valeted inside and out and fully serviced". On collection today, it was as dirty as when we viewed it - the alloy wheels were black. There was no paperwork to say it had been serviced. Upon complaining, we were told by the person I dealt with(a very aggressive sales manager) that "looks clean to me". When we pointed out our issues, he was totally dismissive of us and… Read Full Review

“Lunar Cosmos 352”

Written on: 05/11/2014 by Adamson51 (1 review written)

We bought the above caravan new from above in March 2014 and have used the caravan twice this summer for about 18 days in total. I was draining the water down for the winter to prevent any freeze up problems, and on opening the water filter housing cap for the first time, found there was no filter inside!!!! I rang the service dept at Campbells to ask them why there was no filter and they said most caravans nowadays don't have filters fitted. I explained that a Truma Ultraflow filter housing… Read Full Review

We are keen to know if your door was wood grain finish as we had exactly the same problem with our 2013 Lunar Cosmos 352 also purchased from Campbell's who when told about the problem made enquiries with Lunar and forwarded to us an email from Lunar stating that they were aware of the problem and had changed manufacturers to rectify it. The problem being that Lunar referred to it as an alternative door in an alternative colour, which turned out to be cream. This would have meant one cream door in an entirely wood grain interior.

The original door on the new van has a wood grain finish and a white interior. We received a second door from them which was the same colours, but was also badly distorted. Campbells now have received a white / white door from Lunar which we won't accept as it would spoil the look of the van inside. Lunar say that it has to be this colour to avoid the manufacturing problems causing the distortion. We are extremely annoyed by all this and are having to put up with the original door, which leaks slightly when showering. I can't imagine a car manufacturer getting away with supplying a door with a different colour to the rest of the car!

The analogy you use is exactly the same as I expressed to the warranty/service manager at Campbell's which elicited a negative response. "There's a surprise!". If you look on the Campbell's website & click on to the 2015 Lunar Cosmos model you will see that the washroom door & wardrobe door & the six top cupboards in the kitchen area are in a cream colour which is the same as the infill on the top lockers in the lounge area of our caravan. This gives an acceptable continuity. When we saw this we suggested to Campbell's that if Lunar were prepared to change the six eye level doors in the kitchen area that would resolve our problem. Needless to say we received a negative reply. Apparently the new doors were a different size. Very strange! We then decided that it would be in our best interest to consult a solicitor. (We did have other problems with the van as well.) After the exchange of several letters Lunar agreed to change the doors and we are happy with the new finish. Would this be an avenue that you could pursue?

Thanks for the information regarding the new cream colour doors, we will bear that in mind, it sounds like a possible option although we do like the original wood finish all round. Good luck if you go ahead with that.
At present the shower room door is the least of our worries as the van has been in Campbells for last 4 weeks awaiting important parts to be fitted under warranty and still no finish date! I could tell you much more about other problems which we are hoping will be resolved.

I think that we were both sold " Friday afternoon caravans!!" As well as the washroom door issue the main problem was a crack on the front panel by the gas locker strut. We have had the front panel replaced three times, the first two times the work was carried out by a Lunar approved body shop suggested to us by Campbell's which was closer to our home. Unfortunatlely both of these failed shortly after fitting which resulted in the caravan being taken back to the Lunar factory for inspection. They reported do decernable structural defect to the front of the caravan and fitted a fourth front panel. They collected our caravan on 15 th November 2014 and we collected it on the 28th January 2015. The factory have made a really good job of replacing the front panel and replacing the bathroom and kitchen doors. Fingers crossed that we don't have any further problems. Whether or not we would have received a satisfactory outcome without consulting a solicitor is debateable.. Although none of this work was carried out by Campbell's themselves, one of the things missing with their after sales attitude is any sign of empathy, but then once they have had your money why would they!! Good luck with your van.

You have been through the mill, but I'm glad it's sorted. We have a damp issue after I did a damp test about a month ago.( I'm glad I did a thorough damp check, otherwise I don't think it would have been picked up!). The awning rail was the cause, and Campbells are awaiting delivery of a new one. I'm also not happy with the rail on the other side, it looks like it was fitted by a 5 year old, so to avoid future problems with that it is being replaced as well under warranty. I hope! You are right about Friday afternoon vans, I think they are all in that category from Lunar, never had a problem with our old Elddis! You are also right about lack of empathy, they don't know the meaning of the word!

“Crass Service from Day 1 on a Brand New Caravan”

Written on: 27/10/2014

When we bought our Brand New Adria Caravan 6 years ago we paid cash. What a mistake! If you buy on Credit the Credit Company will fight for you if there is a problem. We had many lies right from day one. The Website Price and Guarantee details were not the same as those on our Purchase Agreement and the Delivery Date was way after the date they had specified. When we refused to go ahead and produced the Web Print Out they suddenly back-tracked. They had originally called us liars! We… Read Full Review

“Appalling Service”

Written on: 14/08/2014 by MazandDaz (1 review written)

I had my Lunar Quasar serviced, costing over £200. The first time I used it after the service I found the pump wasn't working. I swapped fuses with the spare from the fuse box, but it still didn't work. To cut a long story short, Campbell's have washed their hands of any responsibility, claiming the pump was working when they serviced it and offered no explanation as to why the spare was also dud. The service engineer who came out to the site to repair my van, held Campbell's… Read Full Review

The words "Service Center" should be changed to "Don't Care Center". They couldn't organise a round of drinks in a brewery, and to be frank if they did it would be the wrong drink and at the wrong brewery, but hey they are great with excuses and apologies so if that satisfies your endless trips with your caravan then good luck with the repair process… Read Full Review

“DON'T HEED ALL NEGATIVE REVIEWS.”

Having attended Caravan Show in Glasgow in February this year, we purchased an Elddis 574 Supreme from Campbells. (Great deal, with plenty of extras. The sales people were all very professional and we didn't think they were at all pretentious or overwhelming. Arrangements were made for us to travel to Blackpool Rd Preston to collect caravan on April 1st (there was no April fool). Everyone at the showroom were so friendly and helpful. “Have totally lost the will to live with Campbells”

Written on: 31/01/2014 by remus674 (1 review written)

Used van bought from Clifton office in September 13. Were advised by both salesman and finance manager that it was registered in Sept 11. We have since discovered that it was actually registered 6 months earlier in March so we have lost out on 6 months warranty. We were reassured that the issues we picked up with the van when we agreed to buy would be sorted by the time we collected it. This was not the case and these took weeks to sort out. Campbells took our van back to their dealership… Read Full Review
