“Aful service from the "awnings team"”

I decided to buy a new Dorema awning, not top of the range but still several hundred pounds. Spoke to a chap who said he'd call back later in the day having had to call Dorema for a price. Absolutely nothing from him. Called them again the day after, no one available, reception said they'd leave a message. 3 hours later called again and got through to a different chap who said 'nothing to do with me mate' but brought the chap who I'd be speaking to. It's not just the awning team. In my opinion they are poor in all areas.
We ordered a brand new caravan from Lostock Hall and they switched it for one built 6 months previously which had defects without telling us!
Got our money back but their (the director) attitude is disgraceful. No apology at all.
Spend wisely elsewhere.

“Lunar Lexon-built by chimps”

Lunar Lexon had damp on two occasions centred around the gas flue. Eventually discovered that my caravan had been "sabotaged" during construction as the securing ring which secures the flue chimney section had not been fitted hence the path for water to enter. Then there was the water pipe which ran behind the oven. First time we used the oven the pipe melted hence flooding the floor. Handover and PDI? Both very poor. I can only agree with this review.

We bought a brand new caravan from Campbells​.

On collection they had switched it for one built 6 months earlier. Very naughty.

It was dirty and faulty too.

Got our money back.

What an outfit! AVOID LIKE THE PLAGUE.

Ordered brand new Lunar caravan to be built in March 2017.On collection was given one built in October 2016. Wasn't informed of the switch. They broke our contract & their own T&C's. They requested and took my £21,600 being fully aware it wasn't the caravan I thought I was paying for and had contracted for. As well as being the wrong caravan it was dirty and faulty. We ordered a Lunar Clubman SR at the show in Birmingham last October and was advised that the delivery date would be mid to end of March. We received a call from Campbells near the time to advise that the caravan would be ready for collection at 12:30pm on 31st March. We had a part exchange caravan to take in and was advise that the hand over would take around 2.5 hours. You were very fortunate. They switched caravans when we had ordered a brand new one. Very dodgy and dishonest in my view.

When things go wrong I'm sure you won't be as happy with their response. It's legendary.

“APPALLING!!”

We bought a new caravan - a number of issues with it. It took Campbells just short of six months to put things right. We reported them to Tradings Standards & then threatened legal action under the Consumer Rights Act before the repairs were carried out under the warranty. We just paid for a newly built caravan. £21,600. They switched caravans and gave us a dirty and defective one built 6 Months earlier that they received from the manufacturer in early November 2016!!!. See Caravan talk for the full story.

Got a full refund as they were in breach of contract (and their own T&C's)

We have just collected our brand new caravan from Campbells Caravans. This replaces our 5 year old caravan, which we also bought from Campbells. The reason we chose Campbells initially was that they are agents for Bailey, Coachman and Lunar and had the 3 models in stock we were interested in. However none of these 3 were suitable, and the salesman demonstrated alternative model lay-outs, one of which we chose and ordered. In March 2017 we saw water ingress in our May 2015 Lunar Cosmos. We contacted them, they were no help at all. It seems to get it repaired would be a long difficult process.

April 2017. Paid for March 2017 build caravan. On collection and having paid they had switched it for one built in October 2016. Did they tell us? Nope, luckily we spotted it ourselves

Got full refund.

Your story sounds too familiar.

I agree - avoid them at all costs.

initial contact with campbells was great salesman could not do enough, sales manager gave agreat deal on the caravan and was more than happy. on collection sales could not care less never even said hello just gave few free tea tokens and off he went. handover was rude and rushed found few faults with van sticking keys, ohh they will wear in, then another minor fault thats not my problem (made then rectify it) and right you okay now want to hook up and go. the shop staff though were excellent… Read Full Review

“Great sales, Rubbish service center.”

Sales staff at Campbells are very helpful. I cannot fault them. But the service center are still a waste of space. I bought a new van of them a few months ago and found problems as soon a I got it to the site. Nothing new for Campbells. Thier pre delivery check told me all ok but all was not. Now I trying to get the problems sorted, I cannot get the van in to be fixed. I sick of chasing the service team. There is always an excuse. We collected a new caravan. we were assured it had received a thorough PDI and valet as per the order.

It was dirty and had a number of glaring faults.

one or two issues when we bought the caravan off Campbells. Poor brakes and damp in both front and rear of caravan. Took the caravan back to campbells repair centre at farrington, what a difference in attitude.the front damp was repaired before we took delivery of the van, we took the van to the repair centre for the brakes to be repaired and the rear damp to be assessed, which it was and to return to the repair centre at a mutual date agreeable to both parties for repair,which it… Read Full Review

You are absolutely correct.

We spent £21,600 on what was supposed to be a Lunar Clubman Sb caravan to be built in March 2017.

On collection they had switched it for one built in October the following year. They didn't tell us - luckily we spotted it.

No aftercare whatsoever. Got refund as per legally entitled.

My comment above had a mistake in it. We were given one built the previous year. The corrected version is below ;-)

On going theme here. We bought what was supposed to be a brand new Lunar Clubman built in March 2017. They supplied instead one built in October the previous year that had been languishing in their possession since early November 2016

Got full refund as was our legal right.

Had a warranty issue with my new Pegasus 4 Rimini. Local dealer (Flintshire Caravans) would not entertain it as we didn't buy it from them but Campbell's were the complete opposite. Blackburn service centre couldn't have been more helpful and friendly. Caravan was booked in, examined and a temporary fix done whilst parts were ordered prior to a permanent resolution. “Happy shopping for a major purchase.”

My wife and I are on our seventh caravan in 33 years and for the first time we were treated as important. Not just by the sales but by everyone at Preston depot, including the cafe staff. The experience was delightful. It made parting with a lot of money much easier. I would thoroughly recommend Campbells when you are in need of parting with several thousand pounds.
