Good Points: * email notifications* very configurable* subversion integration* time tracking* help desk very responsive
Bad Points: * complicated UI* too much terminology* too many configuration options* quite expensive when used as a hosted service
General comments: I have used Target Process extensively in the last 3 months to manage the development process in a small (8 developers) internet company.I have mixed feelings about the software. Whilst it offers some very useful features (email notifications, subversion integration, automated time tracking) it also has many weak points. After working with the software for almost 3 months on a daily basis I still have difficulties with the UI and struggle to get to the information I'm after. There are simply too many buttons and configuration options in the software.I also find the project terminology quite difficult to understand. For example, when entering a work request, one has to choose from entering either a "task", "feature", "user story", "solution" or "request". Those are simply too many options to choose from. Because of that the less technical people in my company shy away from working with the software. It's just seems too complicated to achieve even simple things like entering a bug. We're using the software as a hosted service, which means we pay £25 per user per month. In my opinion that's very expensive. Granted that the help desk one has access to as a paying customer is very responsive and usually answers questions posted by email within a day.All in all I'm starting to think that making use of a more simple, free-of-cost software we host ourselves would be a better option in the long run.
