Watch out for this insurance cover! Just called to cancel our policy as their quote for our new car was way higher than other insurers! Because we are cancelling just 2 months into a new year with them they have quoted me for something called short term rates @ £112 plus the premiums paid totalling an outrageous £261 for less than 3 months cover. Still can't believe this has happened and last night i paid in full for what was a great quote with another insurer! Looks like we lose out no matter what we do. I am totally disgusted.
    Your M & S my ass!

Beware, M&S insurance have massive cancellation charges, also will also debit money from your credit card the following year totally without your permission for a much bigger quote, than the intoduction quote.

On the 5th JUNE, I accepted an on-line quote from M&S. When the paperwork arrived shortly after I noticed that they intended to keep my card details and renew the insurance automatically without my express consent. Furthermore it requested details of the manufacturers imobiliser. I emailed the address on their paperwork straight away to inform them that I do not have a manufacturers imobiliser as I had stated in my application and would appreciate their written confirmation of such, and to reque ...

On 5th JUNE 2009 I insured my car through M&S mainly because of that name and secondly on price. When I received the paperwork it requests details of my manufacturer fitted imobiliser. I stated in my application that the imobiliser is NOT MANUFACTURER FITTED. They have also retained my card details so that they can renew the policy next year without my express permission. I have emailed them to ask them to confirm that they accept that my vehicle does not have a manufacturer's imobiliser as at ...

wish i had read the first review before i took this Marks and Spencer Car Insurance. I had an accident last week which the other party took full responsibility for. all i have had so far is numerous forms to fill in. they seem to be more interested as to whether i am going to make a claim for personal injury. they wont claim my excess back unless i get car hire through them instead of having a courtesy car which would be far easier. i wasn't cross after the accident but am getting so now because ...

M&S motor insurance is actually owned by HSBC and is actually run by another company BISL Limited. The Marks and Spencer name is only used "under licence" so if you think their brand is any indication of the level of service you are going to receive think again!
I had an accident 4 months ago, the other driver's fault (naturally!), and so far there is no indication that my car is going to be repaired. We are actually having to deal with 3 more companies to get the claim processed, Minster Law, D ...
