Good Points: Portion size, lovely batter, low on calories/lowish on fat, good quality fish

Bad Points: Only 4 in a box, price

General comments: I bought Youngs Chip Shop large cod fillets because they were on offer in my local Asda and had been reduced to almost the same price as Asda's own battered cod which is what I usually buy. I've always thought the Asda ones were the nicest I had tried until I tried these! There are only 4 in a box but as the name indicates, they are large cod fillets. The Asda cod has 6 but they are smaller portions. I thought the batter on the youngs chip shop cod was really tasty, crispy and bubbly, it tasted almost like the real thing! Maybe even better as it wasn't soggy or swimming in grease, and obviously is much healthier. The fish was also really fluffy and tasted fresh. The only thing that puts me off buying these again is that they have now gone back up to full price again which is £3.94, I think this is quite expensive, especially when compared to the Asda's own 6 cod fillets which are about £2.50. I will probably buy them again because they are really nice, I'll just hope that they go back on special offer so I can stock up on them!
