This was our first visit to Il Toro, and I was really impressed. Despite it being very busy (Saturday night) the service was really quick and the food was absolutely delicious. Everything was perfectly cooked and really full of flavour. The menu also tells you where everything's come from, and they use local stuff for everything (except the fish, obviously) which is great. There was a good atmosphere as well, really friendly and down to earth. We'll definitely go there again.

Il Toro was amazing, the food was excellent but a little pricey, although the local and quality produce used in the ingredience made the price acceptable. The atmosphere was also great. We enjoy this little gem of horwich. It seems to get better!!!!

This restaurant has reems of potential, but it just ends there. The location is ideal, the interior is fresh, modern and welcoming. The food is over-price and very average. I have visited this restaurant twice, with a two year gap, and only returned to give them the benefit of the doubt. I left feel light in pocket and unsatisfied in stomach!
The wine list was expensive, £27.50 for a bottle of Sancerre and we'd paid £5 less for the same bottle the week before at a different restaurant. But were forced to choose the Sancerre as most of the others were not available!
The food was eviqualent to pub food and that's being quite fair. The sauteed mushrooms were swimming in oil! The breaded chicken breast was coated in matufactured bread crumbs and deep fried! The total bill for two was £85 and that included only one dessert.
