Good Points: Reliability is very good and performance is good for it's size.Handles very well and is stable and smooth even at high speeds. Doesn't tend to squirm even under very hard breaking conditions.Acceleration is good and it holds the road well so you always feel in control.

Bad Points: It's a heavy bike to move about without the motor running or when trying to reverse. The saddle is quite high making it difficult to move when you are sitting on the bike (I'm 6 foot but can't get both feet flat on the ground).A bit low on the gearing to make it a good touring bike but is ideal around town and in traffic.I found it a little uncomfortable on long trips and after 9 or 10 hours was very glad to get off.

    General comments:
I bought this Suzuki GS650 G Katana 673 bike second hand in 1990 and rode it for 17 years and 70,000 km. The only failures in use were a broken brake light switch spring, speedo cable, horn and the oil pressure warning light. This bike is rugged and reliable in spite of occasional poor maintenance. Availability of parts has never been a concern but were rarely required except the occasional indicator when the bike was dropped.Would thoroughly recommend to anyone who wants a good reliable bike for around town with the occasional long trip. It was my first step up from a 250 cc and while some damage was done to the engine following a loss of oil I hope to rebuild the motor and get it back on the road.
