Summary
The DMP-BD60 Blu-ray player is a corker, offering a simple but stylish design, awesome picture quality and good online functionality. It's not the fastest-loading player available, but, if you want minimum fuss and maximum quality, you won't go far ...

Pros
Good picture quality ; Viera Cast functionality has promise ; simple but pleasant design

Cons
Not that cheap ; no 7.1 analogue audio output

Verdict
The Panasonic DMP-BD60 is a capable and likeable Blu-ray player. We love the simple styling, even if it is unexciting, and we think this is likely to be a really popular machine. DivX support and an SD card reader add to the features, but this player ...

Not that cheap ; No 7.1 analog audio output

Verdict
Like all Panasonic hardware, the DMP-BD60 doesn't look particularly exciting, but it certainly won't upset the style dynamic of your lounge

Summary
Panasonic's DMP-BD60 ($299.95 list), the successor to the company's previous entry-level player, the DMP-BD35, adds YouTube streaming, Picasa Web Album access, and some other multimedia features. But otherwise, its price, performance, styling, and ...

Pros
1080p24 DVD upconversion. Google-based online multimedia features. Quick-start feature improves start-up time. Very energy efficient

Cons
1080p24 DVD upconversion feature needs to be manually activated. Optional memory required for BD-Live support. Quick-start feature increases standby power consumption

Verdict
The Panasonic DMP-BD60 adds YouTube and Picasa Web Albums to its list of online multimedia abilities, but it's otherwise a clone of its predecessor.

Brilliant value for money - highly recommended. Ease of setting up, picture quality on normal DVD and blu ray and sound.
No software problems or loading failures (so-far)!
Price of £180 is amazing value. Does not have 5.1 phono sockets out so just using co-axial on my old AV amp until I get new HDMI sound input amp.

The Samsung DVD-1080P7 will play DVDs, CDs and DVD+/-R. If you have a Samsung TV connected with an HDMI cable, you can use the TV remote to control the DVD player (if it supports the anynet). Great player, and a great value, at $120.

Must agree with all reviews, a fantastic dvd player. I need to know if anyone has a hack or an idea on recording onto video to get rid of the macro vision. I always get the usual mess on the playback of the recording. Any help would be useful.

So I wanted to watch my DVD movies upscaled especially since my region 3 House of Flying Daggers won ' t work in my Playstation 3. I had a few DVD players in the past(Yamada 6600 http://www.reviewcentre.com/review147484.html Ronin P80L http://www.reviewcentre.com/review34731.html). I already had a pretty good DVD player (Peekton 6006 DVD player) which handled DVD ' s/DivX very competently , but no HDMI/upscaling.

I was also getting sick of burning disks all the time, so when I saw...
