“Undoubtedly the most comfortable long distance tourer...”

Written on: 24/03/2011

Undoubtedly the most comfortable long distance tourer on the market.

Unbelievably reliable - had it on the top of the alps in middle of a storm, two up and full of luggage. The beast keeps on pulling.

The finish in unparalleled - Honda and Kawasaki don't come close. And yes, I've had 4 other bikes.

Very very fun to ride, and really pulls from anywhere in the range.

Creamy, torquey and full of character. Just a top quality bike and no sign of rust or cheap, cost-saving kit. (read more)

OF NORGES, SPADAS, & FJ1200's

The website forums are now often throwing up questions & opinions on the new range of bikes from Guzzi, in particular, on the Breva, 1200, & Norges. Indeed, some were from me, pending the acquisition of a Norge .

So as a new owner, & a returnee to the Guzzisti & Gambalungan fold, I thought I'd offer a contribution on how I've found my Norge, against expectation/hope, & compared to my old Spada, & FJ1200 Yamaha.

I found this review very helpful because...As it's not just about first ride it's about living with a Norge. Was so impressed that I've just bought one. Some bike, strange and I can understand that it will not be everyones cup of tea. I love the mix of tradition and modern. It's very different first ride and I was lucky as I had a loan of one for about 6 week the summer before last. I liked it then and was not to keen to give it back. Then last summer I went touring Scotland two up on my Aprilia Shiver, which is a super bike but not really built for this. It had the power but the tank range is so poor that you have to keep this in mind at all times plus not protection and lack of luggage, well big enough as I do have the semi-hard panniers for it. So having tried lots of bike, like the new Ducati Multistrada 1200 which did not impress me at all, the wind noise the buffeting and just not a good package at all for the price. In fact the shiver is just better and it's half the price. So I also tried the new Yamaha Super Tenere 1200 and that is a super bile but the price tag put me off. So I managed to pick up a perfect low milage Norge GTL fully loaded and I smiling as it's super value for money, Italian, different and just wacky. Thanks to the person who wrote the main review.
