Delia is the best known TV cook for the chief reason that she delivers, on screen and in print. She's clear, she accepts that some of us know nothing, though her recipes are equally as appreciated by expert cooks. This is one of her older books but it's still the bible to many. You'll use it for everyday meals, you'll use it for dinner parties and feasts.

This book is GREAT!!! It is totally "complete" from how to boil an egg to making delicious desserts. It includes a section on practically everything you need to know as a chef. For instance, it has a chapter about what fruit and vegetables are in season at different times of the year, a fruit and veg calender. Delia tells the reader how to prepare fish and then gives recipes for the fish. She tells us what we should have in our cupboard as a chef,ie.ingrediants and appliences. We are told how to make perfect bread, omlettes, sauces, rice, pasta, potatoes, meat and poultry, and many desserts. A "Waist Watchers" section is also in Delia's "Complete How To Cook" cookbook. I love this book as it is a great guide for beginners aswell as a really good recipe collection. I think this book is worth five stars as it is not only recipes inside but contains advice and all you need to know about fruit, veg, etc. I LOVE "Complete How To Cook" by Delia Smith. Please go to your local bookstore an buy this book. It's well worth it!!!
