    Good Points: Excellent resistance machines, and the best cardio euipment I've used (Life Fitness). Lot's of them too, I never struggle to find a free machine. Free weights by Hammer Strength are great, and all rubber coated. Very smart gym, immaculate and very stylish. Nice changing rooms and wide selection of classes.


    Bad Points: No power-rack


    General comments: I have been a member at Lifestyle Fitness, Freeman's Quay, Durham for 6 months now, and am very pleased with the service. Upon joining I was put through an induction right away. I am no stranger to gyms, which the personal trainer acknowledged and gave me an induction to suit. I was offered a personal programme on day 1, and this can be reviewed (I think) whenever you like. The pool is beautiful, with a full glass wall it just looks stunning with the sun shining onto it. The steam room is an added bonus, and there's something called a tepidarium, which seems to be a 'chillout' room. Again, changing facilities for the pool are very good, and extremely clean. There's a lovely learner's pool, which I (fortunately) have no need for yet!The gym opens at 6.30am weekdays, which is when I train, and it's lovely, fresh and quiet at that time.
