    Devon Cliffs Holiday Centre was positively the worst holiday I have ever had! What an overpriced, overrated dump.

    Where to start?
    The site itself is ok but confusingly laid out - how can they have 2 caravans with the same numbers in separate sections? How difficult is it for them to number things?! The only help given was a map that looked like it had been produced by an 8yo.
    The accomodation: my in-laws paid nearly £3k for 2 upgraded caravans (something-Plus). On arrival they were filthy with cobwebs and dirt all over (what do thy expect when they pay 17-yr old boys as cleaners?); it did not contain the promised equipment; had walls so thin that you could hear people talking in the NEXT caravan. As my father-in-law said: the best contraception ever! The locks didn't work & ants everywhere.
    The facilities: yes, if you look at the brochure it seems they have everything but when there you will find that the swimming pool is the ONLY included activity & that everything else costs a fortune - my kids had to pay £2.50 to kick a football into a net 3 times!!
    The food is ok but very expensive (over £6 for Burger King meal of dry burger & soggy chips), as is the bar - no Club prices at this place! Respect to the poor barmen though - having to work 12-hr shifts (1pm-1am) with no included food for an outrageous £4.66ph.
    The beach stank & was full of seaweed.
    You couldn't reach customer services for love nor money by phone, instead having to scour the park for someone who was willing to take responsibility - good ploy though, as most people, like us, just gave up and got on with it as best as possible.
    I could just go on and on...
    Verdict? NEVER AGAIN
    Take heed people, this place is an absolute rip off. For the same money, take your family to America & get accomodation AND a hire car thrown in with fantastic service everywhere you go.
    HAVEN? Not for me.

    The seaweed beach was a BIG disappointment. We have never seen so much seaweed on a beach in our lives. This was across the whole beach and made swimming/water sports difficult.

    The on-site kids activities were over subscribed so you have to be really organized to get on them.

    And remember your ear plugs to dull the sound of the military firing range next door.

    This said our kids did have a good time !!

    Devon Cliffs Holiday Centre (Haven Holidays) - All-Action family holiday park in Sandy Bay, Exmouth, Devon UK.
    There really is some beautiful places in Britain and this is one of them!
    Approximately 20 minutes south of Exeter.
    Haven Devon Cliffs Entertainment Complex has a variety of shows, cabaret and live music...which caters for all ages, there is always somthing to do so you can never be bored with luxerious.......
    swimming pools, all weather sports courts, children's clubs, adventure golf, ...
