i've been using the siemens s35i phone for at least eight years now, as i refuse to upgrade my phone when the old one still works perfectly. the design is superb, and although by today's standards the phone is heavy, i very much like the weight of it. It is solidly built and has withstood several drops to the floor. i've only needed to buy one replacement battery which gives excellent standby time as well as perfectly acceptable calling time. charges fast. + no-nonsense, to the point design...

I have this Siemens S35i mobile phone for more than 2 years now and it has never let me down. It's a very nice piece of german engineering and quality.
It's not a fun phone, it's clearly aimed for the professional market and succeeds very well....

The siemens S35i mobile phone is suitable for simple but active people whose life is not merely for fashion. For some people, the not so bright illumination/back light becomes problem, but I like it because it's bright enough without drawing attention from people arround you.
If I could customise 2 or 3 melodies instead of only 1, it would be nicer.
the keys/buttons, which were hard to push, become soft. You might push the right shortcut button (right one below the screen) twice...

Totally agree, what about the Polar Silver S35i edition? Is the keypad improved. The Polar Silver S35i edition with white illumination must be great, right?

I got my Siemens S35i mobile phone about 12 1/2 months ago and after I had the first phone replaced due to the "I'm turning myself off now" issue (delivered to my door within 24 hours) I was very happy with the phone except for the low volume of the ring tone and the odd "I'm turning myself off now" episode. Anyway settled in nicely with it, filled up the phonebook with all me numbers, I also use the reminder thing for to remember everything, dropped it a couple of times with no obvious effect,...

I was hesitant at first...but I'm glad now that I ignored some of the negative reviews of the Siemens S35i mobile phone given by some people.
This is a good phone, it's compact, light and the reception I get is better than than the Motorola and Nokia phones I've had in the past.
The games are a bit boring, but then it's not a Gameboy, is it! The only problem I've encountered so far has been the visibality of the screen, the sunlight can sometimes force you into a shady area just to see...

I'm about to send back my second Siemens S35i phone in a month because the keylock jams on. I can only use the phone by taking the battery out and putting it in again - then have to go through the tedious start-up process before I can make a call.
To add insult to injury the keylock - when it's not sticking - gets knocked accidentally, as does the on/off button, so I sometimes find the phone is switched off when I'm expecting a call.
Also the battery on the second phone I got had a significantly...

The only problem I find with the S35i phone from Siemens is that there are no tabs for the ringtone composer. If you could find any please tell me at mwfcowna@yebo.co.za...

A phone with a high technical specification, the Siemens S35i has a large screen which is unfortunately difficult to read. I find the audio volume to be too low, even at it's maximum setting. I find the phone keypad continually 'unlocks' itslef in my pocket which inevitably results in 'phantom' calls to either the internet or the last dialled number! Battery life is consistent- 3 days.
Overall I find it difficult to drive compared to my Nokia 3310...

Problems with my Siemens S35i phone from the start with the SIM card not being read. The sound comes and goes and even at the loudest setting it's pathetic. In difficult reception areas it's always the last on the block to find a transmitter.
Battery life never exceeds 48 hours. Still no way to connect to an Ipaq and so use the modem which is supposedly incorporated. Memory loss from time to time. Settings change at random. All in all it's a real DOG. I wish I'd stuck with Nokia....

I have used 3 models of Siemens phones, but I have never had those big problems as you encountered.
Written on: 17/12/2003
I have two of these phones and they both suffer from similar problems to greater or lesser extents. Both have been officially unlocked, but one will not now recognise the orgiinal network sim, and periodically rejects its current sim. The other occsionally rejects what ever card is fitted. They freeze on and i have to take the battery out which is actually the quickest method of getting either to close down.
<br>
<br>now that they are unlocked I ahve discovered that you cannot use any of the pin or sim security measures becasue both after about six weeks will cease to work.
<br>
<br>lastly they both ahve dodgy reception, even compared with a much cheaper A class siemens, and even worse, they are both unable to lcok on after losing a signal.
<br>
<br>All in all expensive and very poor value.

I am using M35 & S35. Has great features but :-
<br>- very slow to access to the address directory
<br>- screen panel very stale. when light up it is not bright enought to see the number or wording on the panel
<br>- how about getting inter-changeable casing so that it breaks the monotony after a few months

I am a glad S35 user. In my view no mobile phone can beat the perpetual possibilities the new siemens offers. It's the non-plus-ultra in the overcrowded handy jungle. You do not need any palm or psion anymore. the s35 is equiped with all you need. if you are at home, in the office or somewhere else. the siemens is useful companion wherever you GO....

I had a Motorola cd 930 but there was a problem with the battery and I could no longer live with it, so I was looking for a replacement. I went to a few shops and told them what I needed. I wanted to spent around 120 pounds and they suggested the Nokia 3310 and the Siemens C35 and M35. But while I was listening to the shopkeeper I saw the Siemens and I said "That's what I want if had the money for it" but I hadn't. He told me that this Siemens was an excellent little machine, but I couldn't afford...

Early days for me, but the phone by and large seems excellent. A possible fault with recording function, still being worked through with the manufacturer, but otherwise couldn't be more pleased. Would really love a decent instruction / features profile though....

This is one of the most outstanding phones that I've seen for a long time. It is indeed smaller than most phones that boast as many features being surpassed in this respect only by the Sony CMD-Z5. The battery life is quite long, and it is very easy to use. The only thing that I have againdt it is the slightly poor signal reception. However it remains the best value for money in the market at the moment....

Having drooled over this phone on a recent trip to Berlin, I had to have it on return to England. After a 3 week wait to receive it due to limited supplies in the UK, I am delighted by this phone and impressed by both the hardware and software advances evidently being made by Siemens.
I echo fully the positive comments (although there are actually loads of Siemens accessories available and there is actually the possibility to picture message) made here on this page but would add the following...

simply perfect,all the features you could ever want,including voice dialling,which works very well.
go check the siemens website for all the features and specs.
i paid £200 for my phone and am delighted with the performance,the call quality and signal are always superb,unlike the nokia i owned,every feature works great,the interface is simple to understand.
sheer quality,A MUST BUY....

Compared to some of the other new phones the siemens may seem slightly larger but it is still only about 118x42x20mm and when you look at what you get it turns out it is better equiped than the others and costs less. It has no horrible aerial like the t28, and has a modem unlike the expensive 8210.
text messaging is as quick as the nokia, and quicker than the ericsson. it has 20 voice dials, and a 20 second voice memo, 4 games, modem, calender, stopwatch, calculator, currency converter, picture...

Great piece of hardware! Everything that you can imagine is inside of it: infrared, classic modem (responds perfectly to all AT commands), vibra call, agenda, voice dialing, recording for 20 sec, calendar, appointments, calculator, currency converter, games (4), chronometer etc.
The browser is very good, no bugs, you can get rid of all info lines just to dedicate all the screen to internet. You do not need aditional software to activate the modem via infrared or to send faxes. I bought a cable...
