The Minarete Apartments complex is looking very tired and no longer benefits from being managed by a Hotel Group. So, there is no Reception, service staff or assistance.
There are a plethora of private rental units, privately owned residence units and loads empty for sale (the old hotel apartments). Some apartments are very nice and looked after, others are very basic and grubby. How to choose? Experience or pot luck.
Watch out for noisy party groups at the weekends and buy some cockroach spray.
Location is good and less than a mile to the beach.
Pool is small and not very safe for young children.
Power cuts can be frequent.
Security is poor, ensure you leave no valuables in the apartment as robberies are rife in the area.
