Not happy - spent nearly £100 booking a group of visitors online to celebrate my son's birthday. Unfortunately he succumbed to swine flu and after contacting the forbidden corner we rescheduled. On the second date due to gale force winds and torrential rain we were unable to make the 1-2 hour journey. Upon contacting the company I was firstly informed by a rather beligerent young woman that it wasn't 'raining 'ere', and was then told that I could neither reschedule or receive a refund (online transaction you see!). So, £100 for not actually even seeing the bloody place! Not good! Be warned - they will happily take your money but are less than accommodating.

The Forbidden Corner is an amazing series of follies and imaginative areas, in a delightful rural area. Whoever created this was smoking something pretty extreme though!!!- Read Guest's review (26 words)

Well, I'm not exactly sure where all of these people have visited because I was extremely dissapointed with The Forbidden Corner! After travelling for alomst 2 & a half hours to get there it was an extreme let down. When looking at the leaflet it didn't actually classify what the forbidden corner is (museum, theme park etc) but after visiting I now know why, it can't be classified as anything other than some statues and tunnels in the middle of the dales! It definately is not for younger childre ...- Read charl7's review (171 words and 4 comments)

Just got back from forbidden corner so i thought i would read the reviews just to see what other people thought, although my 2 boys enjoyed themselves i was bored after 10 minutes ,it was like paying just to walk round a load of undergrowth for an hour but with statues and figures dotted around. The gift shop was very poor and contrary to someone elses point of view i dont consider £4 for a ham and tomato sandwich to be good value,in fact i think its bordering on taking the mick, all in all ...- Read pete456's review (117 words and 1 comment)

The Forbidden Corner is a fantastic day out for all the family kept us all out of mischief for a couple of hours! Too many good points too mention! The kids get lots of exercise in the fresh air and they loved taxing their brains with the cryptic clues. Fascinating and magical like entering a whole other world. We lost our son at one point which was worrying so if you have little ones do not take your eyes off of them for a second.- Read furbsta's review (85 words)

The Forbidden Corner is an amazing day out for adults and family alike. So much to see and find. Much of the Forbidden Corner is out doors, so if it rains like it did for us, be prepared and accept you will get wet! Second time I've been and I've enjoyed every minute of it! I think this is the closest UK experience you'll get to Jim Hensons 'Labyrinth'. I just couldn ' t find Hoggle!- Read Oubliette's review (182 words)

The Forbidden Corner much better than I expected! Things round every corner, and all felt like it was well loved by the owners. No plastic statues here, everything was solid, well made, well maintained and felt like it belonged in the landscape. All a bit 'Lord of the Rings'/Narnia. My youngest (3) had a bit of a 'do' in the underground tunnels, but once he went round again, said that it was 'good' and he raced round it all. Just one tip - don't say to any member of the party 'ok you just g ...- Read Cazbar's review (206 words)

It was a long drive from the midlands - over 2 hours - but we were thrilled by our day out. The poor weather didn't spoil it in fact it gave it a certain atmosphere but we'd love to return in fine weather.

We have 2 children aged 2 and 5 who both loved finding all the clues. We also loved it, its very exciting seeing what's round that bend!!! The bits underground are fantastic and the grounds are spectacular. Prepared to get wet in some parts but if you time it correctly you can miss the water. I couldn't face going through the ever decreasing doorway but every one else did and I then spent 15 mins by myself trying to find them!!. I wish we'd allowed more time to look around the park as the bit ...- Read fletty's review (135 words)

My Cousin Lynne and I are both amateur photographers and love nothing more than taking pics of unusual places and our one year old children, so when I suggested the Forbidden corner it seemed an ideal location for a day out for us both.
When we got there we were really excited as it looked exactly like it did on the internet and brochures. We Paid at the desk and were advised "you may have to fold the buggies up in a couple of places for access" ok we thought if its only once or twice we would m ...- Read Gemfox's review (847 words)

RING FIRST TO BOOK TICKETS!!!!!!!
My girlfriend and I took our 2 kids, boy (hellboy) aged 4 and girl aged 10 just on the basis that it looked good on the website.. It wasn't a disappointment on any level.. hellboy + sister ran and shouted themselves to a standstill, they loved the dark tunnels and narrow corridors and various water jets that soak the unwary explorer, hellboy, normally adverse to bathtimes went home soaked.

My nephew aged two didn't like the burping mouth as you entered The Forbidden Corner. But all the other nieces, nephew, cousins aunties and uncles aged between 3 and 60 thought it was fantastic especially when the adults got wet, everyone cheered. A maze of passages, steps, paths and clues. My only regret is we came on a coach trip so our schedule was a bit tight. We could have spent another two hours wondering around so give yourself plenty of time. Inexpensive cafe, with pleasant staff. Will w ...- Read CODHEADS's review (140 words)
