Excellent value freesat box with large 500gb storage fro recording. Simple to install and use. We searched on line and then went directly to Humax direct and bought a special offer "graded" product which has been absolutely perfect. Excellent service & quick delivery at cheaper than I could find anywhere else. (read more)

“Humax Foxsat HDR 1TB Freesat HD Digital TV Recorder”

Written on: 15/11/2012

Upgraded from our old Humax freesat receiver. Decided to go for the 1Tb option and purchased from Amazon. Delivered promptly, set up just the same as old box, which I think is pretty easy. The old remotes work too! I'd had a satellite firm upgrade my dish lnb from one channel to four, running an extra cable to my living room so that I have twin channels to record/watch. Electronic Programme Guide is a doddle and recording choices are easy to make. So far it's been a breeze to use,... (read more)

“waste of money”

Written on: 03/06/2012 by ian123456

Bought foxsat hdr 2 years and 1 month ago, started to suddenly stop working saying no signal, rang humax who were aware of the problem told me to do a factory reset which I did and has made no difference. As out of warranty they now dont want to know. Something this expensive should last longer than this. save your money buy something else. (read more)

I have owned this for over a year having been very pleased with my previous Humax Freeview PVR. First things first, the box is incredibly easy to set up and get working, recording programs either from the EPG or simply pressing the record button works well as does the pausing live TV. The picture quality in HD is fantastic and for good for standard definition Freesat channels. It is lacking some feature like PIP and is slow to boot up. It worked well for about 12 months apart from the... (read more)

Very easy to set up, very much plug and play. EPG is easy to navigate, and the Genre option is good for find stuff in a hurry. Picture quality for SD is good, and HD very good, Only down side not enough HD yet. Recordings Menu is good, I love the way it puts programs into their own folders, makes finding programs very easy. Saw a few people complaining about the remote, but I havn't had any issues with it. (read more)

Had this Humax Foxsat-HDR for awhile now and find it very easy to use, bought mine along with the satellite dish

Installing this receiver is incredibly easy to do and is great for people who arn't very good with technology, the features on the foxsat are excellent and it is incredibly easy to set programmes to record. (read more)

Some of the menus and some of the manual is confusing. The machine sometimes freezes up and has to be restarted by pulling out the mains plug. Somtimes it just seems to have frozan up because when using the remote; it is easily possible to accidently and unknowingly press the "TV" button instead of, or in addition to, the "Power on" button. However; despite these minor shortcomings; I rate it at 90%.

I should first point out that the Humax FOXSAT-HDR is not a DVD player (contrary to the category that this website has listed it in). It is in fact a Freesat+ PVR Digital Receiver.

The Humax FOXSAT-HDR Freesat+ High Definition Receiver is the first Freesat PVR twin tuner 320GB hard drive receiver from Humax, for use on the Freesat satellite television platform.

I installed the FOXSAT-HDR after I had four Sky+ HD boxes that consistently failed one after the other. If you have an existing dual... (read more)
