I have been using Xoom for a long time. Never had an issue, decided to trsnfer with transfast once as they had higher exchange rate. After I submitted the details, the deducted money form my US account, and it was not debitted to my Indian account. It took 3 hours of persisted trying, to get ahold of some one in the customer service, and I was informed that the money will only be released after some stupid verification, I asked them to cancel the transaction and I sent money with Xoom later.... this is the SLOWEST service I've ever seen. I'm still awaiting money to be deposited into my account after 6 days and it has already been deducted from my US account. I would love to give is 0 star, as I have not seen such bad services ever. I tried sending money, for so many days, it was showing processing. Finally I had to cancelled the transaction. I initiated a money transfer 10 days ago, and I am still awaiting action from their side. I should have read the reviews before I opened an account with them. I am positive that I will not be using their service again. The speed at which they have functioned makes me feel even remit2india could have worked. One of the worst service ever. Here is the process flow that they have: 1. Submit the money transfer request. 2. After few days, an email is received asking for verification of sub dollar deposit amounts. 3. Once that is done, again it takes few more days to send another email asking for more verification. I had initiated the transaction on April 19th, and they verified my account only by 28th which is almost 10 days. they deducted the dollars from my US Bank account immediately after my authorization unlike xoom. Funds were transfered on 6th May and it was reverted back on the same day saying there was incorrect name on the account. Vexed with transfast, very bad customer service, any time the cusomer service will be unavailable. they dont respond at all. we have to keep on follow up for the transfer status. They always said that they can make transfer in 24hrs, but they never do like that they more than 10 days. i don't recommend this service at all. (read more)

sometimes the problem gets stuck with the destination. if that becomes the case, request cancellation of the transaction immediately in line with the complete refund including refund of service charges as well. yet, time is of great value too. considering 8 days is already too much loss, you should be careful next time. make sure you won't have issues regarding destination or recipient details. better to transact offline, try western union.

I initiated my first Money transfer using Trans-Fast service on May 11. On May 14, I receive an email stating that a few small deposits will show up in my checking account on May 15 to validate my back account. Now that I have sent the money, they have deducted from my US bank atleast 1 week back but not deposit it to my Indian bank. No response on phone calls, emails, chats. Nowadays It became too fast , Money deposited in my account on the next business day for transfer from US to India. It is giving more conversion compared to other players for "Locked in rate". Initially it was taking more time for transfer to India, but service is improved nowadays. (read more)

They advertise as a sure way to send money -- they are NOT. From the very first their web site lied -- you can not just sign up and send money. Xoom is way way better than transfast. Just to send some extra buck do not use transfast. They have the worst service ever and everything takes time. While a transaction via Xoom takes no time at all, trans fast needs many added layers of information before transferring the money to the intended recipient. Just Don't use it. All, Dont use this service.. I initiated the transaction but the amount was not delivered. They said that they cannot validate my Indian bank account and asked me to contact them. I tried to reach their customer number and email, but no response... They did not return the amount which they debited from my bank of america account. I've tried sending money to a relative which is in need of an emergency medical care. I tried using Transfast instead of Xoom and I really regretted that I did. I transferred using transfast and the initial process takes so long, there is a lot of process to be followed in the beginning . It took ten days and there has been no status. The site shows the transaction as processing The customer service numbers are not reachable easily and once i got hold of them , they managed to say that my account is still under verification , even after ten days. I agree, Transfer sent online gets stuck. Have to call them to get available. Very bad service. Stay away from them. They need to die\ as a bad business. 60 minutes on their phone line and they hang up. Promise to call back and never happens. This is a good place to spent a lot of time expediting via phone, and it is supposed to be an online service.

cybertheft is a big issue unresolved. maybe trans-slow doesn't have enough money in the bag to cover once a fraudulent transaction would get completed on their end. one big reason on-line senders should consider before making a transaction. these companies, not just remittances but also the ones processing normal and bulk shipments are being careful of. word of advice: be more cooperative in sending important documents needed for authentication so your shipments/remittances could reach their destination as quickly as expected. or you could simply do it offline if you really want to make it a fast transaction. -FEDUP with FedEx
