Thieves. Changed car and they quoted way way above the price that Fordinsure quoted who are notoriously expensive (and higher quality I might add). When I said I would cancel they charged me £70, £35 cancellation fee and £35 penalty from the underwriters (?). Dont touch with a barge pole. I am still waiting for confirmation of the penalty fee as Fordinsure said they would reimburse me £50 towards it. I would have given no stars if there was an option to!

    Autotrader car insurance
I'm incensed that this car company auto-renews. The reason I dropped M&S is because they auto-renewed. This time, more aware, I specifically told Autotrader I didn't want to autorenew in a year, but they did it anyway, annd denied I'd ever told them not to (I don't have the luxury of a recorded system to prove otherwise).
Then they tell you if you cancel (on same day they have decided to force you to buy their product) there will be a penalty. They also automatically ...

Absolutely diabolical. Never use Autotrader Car Insurance(! They asked me for my insurance from my other car as proof of no claoms and gave me an e-mail on their letter to send it to. Days later a letter saying I will have to pay another 250 GBP if I do not send. I phoned and explained I did what they asked so they gave me another e-mail address to send it to and said it would take 3-4 days to go through their internal system. I e e-mail and said that it would be answered that afternoon. I ...

I insured my car with autotrader in Sept 2007. I definitely ticked the box for no automatic renewal. Despite this they took £130 from my bank account last september. However they have never contacted me or sent any paperwork. I cannot find an address to contact them and my bank is refusing to cancel the direct debit unless I do this. So I fully expect to have another amount deducted this year.

Last year I insured my people carrier with Auto Trader Car Insurance who charged £315. I did not like the fact that they said they would renew it automatically this year using my credit card details that they had. I wrote and told them to delete my credit card details and not to automatically renew.. They sent me a letter saying that they had deleted my card details from their records and would not automatically renew. This year their renewal quote was £350. I obtained quotes on line ...

Last year I re-insured with autotrader although their renewal quote which they claimed was the best they could get, was actually higher than a quote by them on line. I accepted the online quote and paid by credit card. They wrote and said that they would keep my card details to automatically renew my car insurance. I wrote and asked them to delete my card details from their records. They confirmed this in writing, but this year sent a renewal quote and threatened to renew it automatically using ...

The policy was automatically renewed without my knowledge. As soon as I received the notification I went online and found the SAME company quote me for the same insurance for £43.00 less. I called Autotrader Car Insurance immediately to question this and was told there are web discounts. I asked if I could cancel and take out the web insurance with the SAME COMPANY. They stated I could but would be charged a £20.00 cancellation fee. I tried to explain that I was actually going to ...
