even though its 12 years old youd think it was made only a couple of years ago, well built, smooth and fantastic good looks, good on fuel too. I wont go back to holden or ford after this. This type of car must be pampered though. I consider it a hobby car. Half the fun is in the detail, after all the whole purpose of a car like this is the impact on all those who see it. (read more)

I bought my 320 with an LPG conversion. This means I get the equivelant of about 45mpg on cost.
Having all that oomph, the great V6 sound and getting economy is great. The LPG tank in the boot still allows enought room for a travelling family of 4, suitcases and all so I can only imagine its a huge boot without the LPG conversion.
Its also luxurious. Although a decade old it has every extra (Avantgarde model) including S class seats, auto windscreen, zenons, electrics all round, auto...

Wheel arches - big problem. Try and find a good one! Reliable - so far (after 2 yrs). Problem with 'squell from front nearside wheel' don't know what problem is, nor does Mercedes, nor does anybody else or garage! Beware, wheel arches will rust - 'bigstyle! (read more)

I was looking for ages for a Merc 320 or a BMW 535. I found mine in Feb 08. It's a 1998 model and had done 20K miles (genuine! with full service history). If you are interested in a 320 then you need to have a test drive. You will not be disappointed. Mine is the Elegance with all the extras. (read more)

We weren't really looking for a Mercedes but when my wife and I saw this car with only 45k miles and in mint condition... we bought it. We've driven Jags to Maserati's and all types of sports cars and the CLK 320 is by far the best V6 engine I've ever driven. Gas mileage is great!
We plan to buy another CLK 320 - TWINS!

I'm very happy after 6 months and 8k miles. Effortless driving over long distances and capable of 35mpg without being a slouch. (read more)

I can't wait to get into my Mercedes Benz CLK 320 car and drive. It fits me like a glove. I am a little too comfortable in it. I like the steering. I love the control of the engine. I love this car. Great stereo, speakers don't shake, the steering is very good, make sure everything is held down in your car before you take a wild turn!! I like the suspension, except it can get a little shaky at times. (read more)

I looked at BMW 330Ci and CLK before choosing the Mercedes Benz CLK 320. It is a very good motor. Great styling and all you would expect of a coupe. Mine has 17 inch AMG wheels and sports suspension. This transforms the car from a softie to a much firmer handling car.
The engine is strong and smooth. The autobox is a strong point. The tiptronic function is useful and allows greater control.
The build quality has been a bit shonky of late, but the CLK seems to have escaped the worst of it....

This is a very desirable car but once in ownership it has numerous irritating features and doesn't deliver a pleasure of ownership one would expect. After 12 months it has still not "grown on me" and it's not a car that you can ever feel at one with when driving.
Poor brake and accelerator pedal relationship/offset, excessive accelerator pedal travel/response and deep seat squab result in leg cramp and lower back ache regardless of seat and steering wheel positioning (which is not...

I agree with this review, my Merc had nothing but irritating problems since I bought it, I now have a 330ci. The steering was my main gripe, for a car to be this price, you expect good steering. Instead it felt like i was wearing my jelly driving gloves.........still I'm sure those owners who have never driven cars with good steering won't notice the problem. It did look quite prettey though, and at least it wasn't a BMW, still I tried my best not to own one, but what else is there with four seats- don't mention Saab (who said wobbly Vauxhall floorpans) ot Vulva please, I'm still young.

I am in total agreement with this review. I have had ongoing backache since I boight this car. I prefer to drive my girlfriand's Mini bewcause it is more comfortable. My CLK had faults with the auto seat positioning, rattling speakers, a falutly track rod which were eventually sorted but on a £40,000 car I should have had to put up with it. Mercedes failed to offer compensation or an exchange even though the problems occured within weeks of purchase. I wanted to move away from BMW but wonder if I should have stayed.

Of all 2 door 4 seat 6cyl rear wheel drive cars made today, only the Porsche 911, BMW325Ci, and Ford Mustang V6 are lighterthan the Mercedes-Benz CLK 320. The Porsche is much more expensive and cramped inside and the others have less power and cache. The CLK has a very rigid body, good fuel economy and storage space. It is exceedingly well built and solid. But oh, that style: unique, sleek, classic, timeless. That style (and construction) is where it trumps the BMW330Ci. The CLK320 is also... (read more)

In "good points", the reviewer writes that the car is reliable "because"(?) of its designed-in faults. This makes no sense.

<br>Also, if he wants to turn the blower down or off, he needs to push the fan button several times. Each time he pushes, the fan blows less and less until it is off. Not as simple and convenient as a dial, but this is how it's done.
