Saga makes mention the instrument is hand graduated which is a key point from a luthier standpoint. The balanced tonal qualities are proof of good graduation of the top... i.e. very clean E string having no squeaking regardless of bow pressure and very resonant dark G with balanced D and A. The A I found to be exceptionally sweet with my setup. Great fiddle tone and loud. Very tight grained spruce top and very responsive to light bow pressure using the setup I have outlined. The Cremona SV 1340 is a well made and tonally very good Chinese built instrument.

The SV 1340 comes with one factory installed fine tuner for the E string. If the 1340 is being used as fiddle and strung with steel strings then 4 fine tuners will be required to enable accurate tuning.
<br/>
<br/>The installation of the 4 fine tuners will alter the optimal afterstring length of 55 mm (i.e. the harmonic 6th partial) therefor the tailpiece should be pulled back by adjusting the tailpiece gut adjuster and also the tailpiece itself will have to be slightly modified at the saddle end to enable the correct afterstring length .The above recommendations will return the instrument to the 55 mm afterstring length of the makers standard factory setup should fine tuners be installed.
