I've had this Colorado D4D from new, 126K on the clock now, do my own servicing realy simple. Outside of that all it has cost me is 2 sets of all terrain tyres 1 set of brake pads front and back and a transfer box prop shaft. Never failed me, gonna keep it and run it into the ground. However I reckon I will be long gone before then. It is a practical, no-nonsense car - but profoundly dull to drive.

i have owned my toyota colorado from new 1996 and a 125000 miles on the clock she is a loyal, practical, ever reliable member of the family. I had a blowout at 70 mph on the motorway with 7 children in the car and she steered to the hard sholder solidly on three wheels - what a car. I am not the best driver and my car suffers i am sure but this car takes everything you could throw and delivers a safe solid comfortable ride. I know that the resale value would be low now and yet she is worth her ...

I've owned a Colorado 3.0TD GX commercial (rare item) for nearly 8 years, done 135K, everything original (except the exhaust what I broke in a forest... and brake discs) used everyday, starts first time every time on the original battery, goes anywhere (quickly if you want it to, boy racers get a scare or 2) drive hundreds of miles and get out feeling like you just drove down the road. Been in snow up to the bonnet, water over the wheels, with a load in the back, unstopable, indestructable, go a ...

    Joy to drive.

Similar to previous review had failure of radiator at 80k and gad fluids transferred between radiator and gearbox. Tried having gearbox flushed but not fully succesful and all advice was it would fail at some future point - options - full rebuild £1000 or second hand gearbox. Went for second option and so far so good . BUT all could be avoided for replacement radiator £180 at 70k whether it seems to need it or not. If anyone has experience of any other things worth ...

Best car in the world... I got mine with over 300,000 miles on the meter and it still runs like it just came out of the showroom! If you are thinking about getting one I'd advise getting a diesel manual that is the TDGX 98 model! Not that I have any thing against petrol engines or automatic transmission its just my diesel motor has been the most reliable car ever and as such I am biased towards diesels! However if you are buying second hand always check the service history as some have had engi ...

Its a superb vehicle to drive and returns 35.95mpg on a long run even around town it 's well above 30mpg. I have just covered 2000miles across Europe with relaxing ease. Mine is the 3door D-4D so maybe the 5door will use more fuel.
Apart from London doubling the Road Tax I have no compaints.

'99 Colorado. Just had the radiator fail between gearbox cooler & water. OUCH!!! Luckily I had only moved 30 yds on tickover. Radiator replaced & flushed. 20ltr of ATF through gearbox normal. But when the garage first flushed the box it was banging into gear. Since the 20 ltr flush I have put through a further 25ltrs through it at 3ltr per day. Touch wood it is coming cleaner and gear changes are smooth again. Maybe I was lucky only driving 30yds. Auto trans workshop tell me it is a common probl ...

Now over 200,000 miles in 9 years. Scrupulous 6000 mile oil changes. Doesn't seem quite as lively as it was when new! But seats 8, mixture of biggies and smallies, and tows a recovery trailer with 1 tonne vehicle, and still averaging 26 miles per gallon, this with auto.
One thing to remember, and my transmission repairers inform me, is that in the event of the radiator failing between engine coolant and cooler, (they share the same basic matrix) that you will almost certainly require an auto tr ...

After 1 year of ownership I am still in awe of its capabilities. Never been stuck in snow or mud. Pulls trailers like they're not there. Seats 8 adults, biggest in the front and middle though! Bought with 111,000 on clock, now at 129,000 and so far had 1 service, straight through the MOT, had 1 side light bulb failure and replaced all four tyres with Dunlop AT21's at a cost of £320.00.
It is by far the most practical vehicle I have owned and with 4 kids to ferry about and a disabled mothe ...

Allow £300-400 for a radiator rebuild as soon as you get a vehicle over 5 yrs old.

I've had my Toyota Land Cruiser Colorado for 4.5 years now and apart from having to replace tyres because of punctures I have had no problems with it at all.
I do think that for a top of the range vehicle they could have put the extra reversing light and motorway light on the nearside.

Had the 2000 Toyota Land Cruiser Colorado 5 door vx, 3 litre diesel auto for one year, having owned numerous vehicles Mercs, Audis ,Cherokees etc, I can confirm that this is the real deal, no matter who gets in the vehicle, they all comment on the Cruiser's qualities. It is a pleasure to drive, practicality of the seats [electric, heated leather] is incredible.

This vehicle stands out in a crowded carpark, the sheer driveability is unsurpassed in 4x4s, only last week I went to a garage to MO ...

My friend owned an earlier model Toyota Land cruiser 4x4 for nearly 20 years. It was a 101% reliable, and travelled great distances carrying heavy PA systems and musical instruments. On many occasions I went along as a part of the band, and this convinced me to get my own. I have never looked back, and now I carry my own equipment and do the same. Comfort and reliability is second to none, and a test drive is a must for anyone thinking of buying a 4X4.

I decided to part company with my tow vehicle (I tow a 20 foot twin axle caravan) (Volvo S80 which was unreliable). Test drove many 4x4 vehicles, read reviews from Uk and US which made my mind to hunt for and purchase a 3.0ltr 4 door diesel Auto Colarado. I fell in love with the vehicle immediatley will never want to part with this beast (wife will go first) joking aside unbelievable power house.

I've wanted one all my working life but could never justify it, because it's easy to get the impression that it's going to cost an arm and a leg to run from tests and reports, and that always put me off. It doesn't. Yes it's heavy, and there's going to be a fuel penalty as a result, but the D4D engine pulls strongly from tick over and there's no need to rev it through the rev range. It's a case of "horses for courses"! Of course you'll get better mpg from a moped, but have you ever tried off-r ...
