Good Points: The boots wear like a pair of slippers, whilst still giving the upmost ankle support. They are totally waterproof, staying dry despite numerous consecutive days of very wet walking across rough heather moorland, shallow streams and upland bogs. The grip is excellent and blisters were nowhere to be seen despite the boots being new and not broken in.

Bad Points: A little pricey for the occassional walker or those who like to stick to well trodden footpaths, though with a good ten years life expectancy, even over the roughest terrain, the average yearly cost makes these boots a very good buy.
Also, the boots were/are available in brown leather, so those of you wanting a modern, eye-catching pair of boots with neon flashing lights and funky air horns should look elsewhere. Those in the know however, will still turn their heads and admire a fantasic make and a fantastic pair of boots.

General comments: Altberg's service is first class and they will advise on all aspects of hill walking. The Altberg Fremington Ladies Walking Boots themselves are extremely comfortable, totally waterproof and fully supportive. They are available in half sizes with various widths and even my small sized feet were accommodated - a problem I have with nearly all other makes. Friends of mine have worn Altberg for many years and insist that a pair of these boots, and their others too, will last a good ten years of rambling and rough fell walking, retaining their waterproofness and comfort.
