Good Points: Didn't find any good points what so ever!

General comments: Went in April 2008 on girly holiday, we are all aged about 18 and in serious relationships. Some guys just presumed we were there for "fun".
Would never go again. Felt much safer walking around the streets of England by myself, then spending any more time Lanzarote.

Loved our stay in Costa Teguise. You have got to try the King Kong breakfast from the pool bar, Monkey Hangers. It is very good value and the people there are very friendly, serving the best cup of tea on the island!

I went to Los Carmenes in Lanzarote with my family, and we all had a really nice time as everyone was so nice there, with such a good atmosphere. the people at the pool bar were nice, but I didn't go there much

The pool was freezing, but it felt warm once you put your whole body in for a few seconds.

There was a slight problem with cockroaches, but not too major.

There were lots of places to go for a great day out, and the bars and other hotels had great entertainment!

    I would recomm ...

I would sincerely recommend Los Carmenes. On whole welcoming and clean. Do not bother hiring kettle, use saucepan for water for tea, coffee etc.
Bath facilities excellent, pool ok although a bit small, use EL TREBOL pool opposite, next to two supermarkets, do not bother with cooking, there are plenty of good restaurants, particularly VESUBIO, turn right at beach, keep walking 1/2 mile round headland, and you can't miss. food exceptional, waiters spoil your kids. Do not be tempted to buy digital ...

We went to the Los Carmenes in May 04 and had such a ball we decided to return in November, and it was great, in fact I'd say there have been improvements from the last time. Sun loungers were in abundance and the management have now put up notices informing people that if there is a towel on a lounger is not used for 1 hour, it will be removed so that the bed can be used by someone else, and washing line facilities have been added to all balconies, which is useful.
Maids service was superb and ...

After reading some reviews, we were a bit wary of Los Carmenes. We had no reason to worry when we arrived, there had been a refurbishment and the accommodation was spotless, the maid came in 6 days out of 7. John, Jean and Nik at the poolside bar were the friendliest staff we have ever known. We were introduced to all of the other guests in the apartments, and Nik is famous for remembering people's names the following year. Many people return. John and Jean are a comedy duo at breakfast time!! M ...

We have been going to Los Carmenes 3 times a year for the last 7 years. Complete refurbishment May 2004. All staff polite and very happy in their jobs since Juan Bossio took over, a very hands on manager, who we have been introduced to and become friends with. He cares for the complex as he would his own home.

If you discover any problems with your room, once reported usually completed within the hour.

Pool well cleaned every day. Rooms above basic for what you pay.

    Poolside bar run by ...

Just got back from a week at Los Carmenes. Pool area was very small, and the rush to reserve sunbeds at 9 am, made me ashamed to be British. We always used to complain about the Germans. The Management should control the reserving of sunbeds, when they are limited like this. People reserve sunbeds and then go out & return at 3. I hope their towels got sunburnt! Still the beach is only 10 minutes away & only 6 euros a day for 2 sunbeds.
Also watch out for cockroaches. We had 2 separate incidents ...

Costa Teguise, Los Carmenes - Just come back from Los Carmenes and the whole family had a great time. Apartments were lovely and clean. We would definitely go there again for another visit. The staff were very friendly and helpful. Most visitors seemed to be families or couples which was great (no rowdy gangs of lads)!

I stayed at Los Carmenes in June 2004 and had a great time. The apartments were excellent especially considering the price paid.
The only negative comment I have to make is that I found the cook at the pool bar was unhelpful If you wernt a regular visitor.

Costa Teguise, Los Carmenes - We stayed at the Los Carmenes for two weeks and it was the best holiday I've ever had, the hotel was clean and well-maintained.
The staff were friendly and very efficient.
The staff at the poolbar really made the holiday for us, they are all so friendly and introduced everyone to each other. As these people also run Bamboozles, it was just as wonderful in there.
There were only two bad points in my opinion: people put towels on the sun loungers then went off out ...

Forget all the bad reviews concerning the accommodation at Los Carmenes in Costa Teguise, Lanzarote.
The place has just undergone a major refurbishment, with new bathrooms and kitchens and completely re-decorated. The hotel and the gardens/pool area are kept immaculately clean every day. 10/10

The Pool Bar is an excellent place to meet and have a drink. You will be made to feel very welcome by Nick, Jean and John. They also provide breakfast and snacks during the day. Good quality food at ...

We found Los Carmenes complex clean and tidy at all times. We paid for basic accomadation and that was what we got, no complaints.
Inside the complex you had the pool bar a meeting place for the holiday maker, we were made more than welcome by the staff like I said before Stars. Rating only for the Pool Bar and Nicks Bamboozle Bar outside the complex. We only saw the Holiday rep on arrival and departure.

I would never go back to Los Carmenes as the holiday was very distressing, and rep was not helpful.

Costa teguise los carmenes was an ideal place to stay if you wanted to explore the island, after all we were just sleeping & chilling without the hassel. Our room was in the corner & was bigger then some others, the room & pool were cleaned everyday (except sunday). Nik still running the bar with Dee his helper while Diane concentrates on Bamboozles. I say you get what you pay for & also if you wanted entertainment you could use the El Trebol across the road. It would of been nice to have a court ...

There is one very good reason for staying at the los carmenes appts.
    'Diane's Poolside Bar '.
It is run by Nick who is probably by far the best host of a bar that I have ever met. He will make your holiday.... he will remember your name.... he will make you feel welcome.... and he will make you feel like you have known him for years. Together with his wife Diane they also run the small bar ' Bamboozles ' just outside the appts where Nick sings 2 or 3 nights a week. It's got great atmosphere ...

We have just arrived back from Los Carmenes and despite the weather being a bit cloudy, we had a good time.
Security seemed as good as you would expect in this level of accommodation, which is about standard for the price. Common sense should see you through.
The equipment in the apartments is a little basic, but all the other bits can be hired at a cost if you have to have them. You get an oven and a couple of rings and a fridge, table and chairs, settee and a chair as standard. Bedrooms a ...
