Arrived with Turkish Airlines. Capwe Town and surroundings is beautiful, scenic and unforgetable. Would go there again! Worth to rent a car ( we booked through reliable car broker Izzirent) to see more and travel with your own pace, roads are excellent, a short ride from capetown is Simon Town, Boulders bay known for penguins, about 2 hours away from CT is Cape of Good hope that deserves more than one day visit according to all the flora and views. On the way to Cape of good hope there are many small towns worth a stop and also endless white sandy beaches to explore. Shopping is quite usual - a lot of european brands that are of course even more expensive than in europe with fixed prices. For souvenirs from street vendors you can always bargain a bit. We had many nights out in centre of Capetown, met nice people and had a superb time there.

Cape Town is a truly beautiful place to visit. I've been twice and each time really enjoyed it. The surrounding Table Mountain looks totally stunning, and the trip up the top in the cable car is definitely worth doing!

There is so much to see and do whilst in Cape Town, and I'd really recommend taking a trip to the harbour and especially the beach!

Food is always great, with super sized portions and especially a fantastic selection of fresh seafood. If you can, try and take a trip to the vineyards. Great fun and the scenery is just breathtaking.

Obviously, depending on where you're travelling from, the flights could be quite expensive, but that's my only negative! Check out South Africa and Cape Town... you won't be disappointed!

Cape Town i would highly recommend to anyone for a holiday, we will defently go back for a holiday. Weather is brilliant, lots of things to do, if you dont want to sit on the beach all day, there are the winelands to visit, which has lovely scenery. Even has a theme park Rantanga junction which was excellent, and you can even go swimming with the penguins. It really is a great place, we had 2 weeks there and still didn't do everything, next time it will have to be 3 weeks.

Cape Town is a small compact city set in a hilly area, with rolling residential areas, overlooked by the fertile plains of the elongated Table Mountain which dominates the horizon of the city from every angle. Apartments and houses adorn the impressive coast line and there are clean soft sandy beaches with palm fronds. There is an excellent selection of restaurants on Cape Town's Waterfront. Recommended places to see:

1) The beautiful and multi-coloured botanical gardens of Kirstembosch that are set on the incline of Table Mountain.
2) Drinking and eating on the Waterfront
3) Some of the idyllic vineyards just outside of Cape Town. Some even have restaurants that serve the wine they produce.
4) Cape Point, not far from the city, where the warm green Indian & colder blue Atlantic oceans meet. You can actually see the different colours of both sea currents where they meet from the cliff-tops (The most southwesterly point of Africa). www.capepoint.co.za
5) Hermanus, a coastal town a short drive from Cape Town which is home of the Southern Right Whale (bigger than the humpback). They come into the bay in September to calf and can even be seen from restaurants overlooking the bay. I saw one breach from the water right in front of a 1st floor restaurant when I was there, a magnificent site. The bay is very deep even close to the harbour edge. www.hermanus.co.za

Car hire is very cheap and they drive on the same side as us. It was cheap wehn I was there last year and you get a lot of Rand for Sterling that gives you excellent spending power there. Flights can be sourced for £400-500 and worth every penny. The people are warm and friendly. For me it was the holiday of a lifetime. Hard to beat all round.
