Matt James, The City Gardener is a very disappointing book.
Very little new, and an astounding 55 photos of Matt James, which teaches me nothing about gardening. These photos of Matt James are at the expense of valuable shots of the gardens that he has built. I shall be getting my money back on the book. (read more)

I found this review very helpful because it confirms by opinion after I looked a the book in the public library. It is quite weird and pointless having so many photos of Matt in the book, mostly not even demonstrating how to some task, but just posing like some d-grade catalogue model.
