The story of history's most famous bank robbers is superbly told in this movie which I can honestly rank as one of the best gangster films I've seen. Although there is a lot of gun-shot and violent sets in the movie, it is a lot about character and Dilinger who is portrayed at times as Robin Hood who never takes money from ordinary people, only from the banks, how smart he is to escape prison and police chasings and how loyal he is to his friends. The love story between him and his girl Bilie add a lot to the film with Bilie played by the pretty Marion Cotillard. What can I say about Jonny Depp! He simply makes the whole movie with his brilliant play. Public Enemies features him in a brilliant form!
