Booked this trip having done very little research but the guys at Xtreme Gap were so helpful that they convinced me I would enjoy it and I really did! Was so amazing- like nothing I've ever done before. Was a real laugh, but really challenging too. Have amazing arms now! Just looking at what other great trips I can do with Xtreme Gap and where my next challenge will be!

I booked a round the world trip with these guys heading out to Thailand, Australia newzealand and the usa. I would recommend them.
Seemed to have a good set up in Thailand especially where i did a free diving course, Australia they included a load of tours and bolt ons from third parties which I could have booked myself, but actually was pretty convenient having Xtreme Gap handling it all. Australia was not that great (just because it wasn't my kind of country) but no complaints.
New Zealand I did the adrenaline tour, that was awesome, good group of people and a wicked laugh.
They were pretty reasonably priced too, I shopped around a lot before I went away and these guys seemed to come up as one of the cheapest most of the time.

I went to Australia on my gap year, on my own. I did a lot of research before I left and found this company, after doing quite alot of digging around. In initially I had planned on going on a real gap programme but then I read alot of negative reviews about them and what swung it for me we reading and article in the Sunday times here is the link:
http://www.timesonline.co.uk/tol/travel/news/article6788628.ece
It basically destroys real gap and several other money grabbing gap year companies and mentions www.xtremegapyear.co.uk as being a better alternative.
I decided to check it out. Both companies clearly compete with similar types of gap year programmes, but Xtreme gap is much better value (when you figure out the £/' exchange rate.
On the phone I talked to a girl called Debby, she was lovely and really helpful during my planning, in the end I booked a 3 month surf course and working holiday package. This went very smoothly and they even upgraded my room on the first few nights for me for free as "a welcome to Australia!"
Definitely recommended!
