Good Points: Large clean and comfortable rooms, get one with a balcony. Near trains and buses, new tram line will stop here. Great complimentary breakfast, refurbished 2007, friendly staff.

Bad Points: Near trains and built over the bus depot. High traffic (all kinds) area. Outer edge of old Florence. Tramline under construction. No repairs to broken toilet but there are two in a suite; no 'personable attention', but desk staff very nice. Cold industrial atmosphere inside.

General comments: My wife and I spent 4 days in Florence during October 2008. We felt the Waldorf Suite B&H hotel was good. It was safe, roomy and priced right via online purchase. The included morning breakfast was excellent as they have conference facilities for local businesses. To be fair you are next to one of the most popular sites: The Cathedral Santa Maria and there are underground paths that take you around most of the congested traffic areas. And there is a major bus stop and taxi rank two short blocks away. We are in our 40s and walking around Florence was a joy. During arrival and departure lugging the luggage the short walk to the train station was probably an advantage. But walk you will past buses, cars and lots of locals hurrying to work. The three blocks surrounding the hotel get boring very fast.Recommended? Yes. Stay Again? Probably not.
