I have been using this company for 2 years while on holiday from Perth W.A.& have found them excellent to deal with.Staff are friendly & very helpful.I've usually gone with the cheapest deal at the time & even though the cars usally have a high mileage they are all very tidy & I have had no problem at all with them. The drivers that pick me up from the Airport are so nice chat to you along the way as they take you to the depot. My last hire was Tuesday 23/4/13. We hired a car to travel from Auckland to Tauranga and on to Gisborne returning via Napier and Taupo. The staff were friendly and helpful, the car was fine, clean and reliable and, using the sat nav we also hired, we had no trouble during our week travelling. The staff at Omega was very pleasant, but they could not reverse my payment when I inadvertently paid with the wrong credit card. When we returned the car they were very timely in driving us to the airport. The car was exactly what I was expecting from my e-mail correspondence. The map included with the car could have showed more detail on exactly where the rental agency was located. We had quite a bit of trouble finding it on our return. (read more)

“Easy, reasonable, good option if you need a car”

Because they are centrally located on Beach road I was able to walk from my hotel and rent a car for the day. Easy pick up good vehicle, and the option to return late with a minimal parking fee. It would be nice if the car came with a full tank of gas but at least I didn't have to worry about filling it up after my journey. Also hoping that they eventually have an early morning pick up. My husband and I hired a Nissan Sunny for 14 days from Omega Car Rentals in Auckland. Our flight arrived on a Sunday, touching down at 5pm. Best car and best hire car company ever used. Best rates, hired a 1999 Nissan Bluebird, 1.8 plently of power for the hills, just purred all the way, good fuel ecomomy. The car was in good condition, worry-free and quite economical given the load of six people and bags - a bit of a squeeze. We picked the car up from the city depot after disembarking from a cruise ship. I hired a Mazda Premacy in New Zealand for 3 days, picked up in Auckland City and dropped off at Airport depot. The car had 1800cc engine and was very fuel efficient but not powerful enough for motorways, going 50kph at 2000rpm, 80kph at 3000rpm, 90kph at 3400rpm. My wife and i rented a Toyota Corolla from Omega Rentals in Auckland for 2 weeks. When we got there, they came and picked us up(on time) and we went to there office, did a quick sign up, and off we went. The car was clean, full of fuel, and ran like a dream all the time we had it. Cant recommend them enough. The daily rate was very reasonable also. not a good experience for the cost paid and the value recieved. 45 minutes late on the Pickup upon our arrival, the car was like 10 years old (124,000 KMS or more) and in very bad shape. For half the price you get better deals anywhere else, but had already booked. (read more)

A lot of companies had sold out but Omega had a Toyota Corolla, in great condition, spacious, comfortable and most importantly, great value. Staff in Auckland were very friendly and helpful. The service was wonderful, picked up from airport within 8 minutes of phoning and about 5 minutes to complete all deatils re hirage and we were away. Omega Cars were great, quite a bit cheaper than the competitors which when you are hiring for two and half weeks makes a real difference. We had a Subaru Legacy which was fine for running about. Car ran well, was very very economical, and changing my rental dates was a breeze - all I did was call in the day before and explained I had got my dates mixed up and they changed them with no cost involved. We got a Parking ticket in Auckland for our rental van. It stated that we had 30 days to pay but we paid the ticket within 1 week. Three weeks later I saw a charge on my VISA from Omega Car Rental. We were met on time at Auckland airport as arranged by the transfer bus to the local depot. The car was ready, valeted and the paperwork completed without delay. It was not old and drove well (automatic). At Wellington we drove to the depot and was transferred to the Ferry Terminal in the same car. Competitively priced with great service all round. I searched the internet to locate a rental car firm close to the WELLINGTON Airport. Omega's site came up and in reading what you got for your dollar, it was a great deal. Omega offer a shuttle service (saving the parking fee cost of exiting the airport carpark, up to $30, or a 30 minute journey into the city!) Really useful for us was pick up at Auckland / drop off at Wellington, followed by pick up at Queenstown and drop-off at Christchurch.
