BT Infinity is great - with lots of hotspots/shared wifi round the country and excellent speeds, but BT TV is not so good. As others have said, there are pauses, recordings that don't work and because so much of the programming comes from your internet connection, if that is down then no more programs. The remote control is complicated and freezing is common. Bt vision is quite possibly the worst product I have ever purchased. Has not worked tidy from day 1. Always freezing, switching itself off, even films I have paid for freezing. Now it is so bad I cannot watch a singal programme without it freezing. Also the bt customer service is the worst I have ever had to deal with. I took this package out based on a promise that BT would evaluate the signal strength and assure me that it would function fully. BT engineer did check and assurance was given that it would work. The following day things started to go wrong. BT sent engineer after engineer out to problem shoot and still no joy. BT vision apparently 'upgraded' What a joke. The red button for all updates has gone. We recorded a series before going on holiday and a critical second episode failed. No explanation or reason why. As an Olly Murs fan, I would like to listen and watch his music videos, and as 'busy' and 'thinking of me' are my two favourites, I couldn't seem to find them. This TV service is so poor , which combined with an atrocious customer services team who now have resorted to lying, meant that I have just paid £500 pounds to terminate this joke of a service, that's how bad it is . Only good for watching normal tv. Try purchasing a film or watching anything on the I player and the picture just freezes all the time. We have BT fibre broadband which is great, so that's not the problem. This has been put on the market when it doesn't work properly. Had Bt vision a couple of years ago in a rented house and enjoyed the chance to watch a whole series over a couple of nights so when I moved thought I would have it again only to find that you have to pay for just about everythng eg. to watch America's Next Top Model is £1.10 per episode!! The film choices are terrible and there is nothing interesting free!! Do enjoy ease of recording especially a series but dare say I could do that with a decent DVD Recorder. I am about to cancel my BT Vision box, complaining to BT only gets you into a frustrating argument with an operative called 'Nigel' in an Indian call centre.Over the last 12 months I have spent an inordinate amount of time trying to get the picture in sync with the audio, giving it that authentic look of the 'Monkey' oriental tv programme from the 1970's (for those of you old enough to remember!). Bt vision is very disappointing. The films that are free are usually on freeview anyway and all the other features are nothing special. The guy who installed the box had to ring the exchange and literally beg for our connection to be uncapped from 60kbps LOL, otherwise bt vision wouldn't have worked, we're now at 700kbps which is still shocking considering what the national average is. Brilliant until it goes wrong and then try and explain to the Indian call centre and you've had it.
Everything on mine works except 'on demand' so can't watch anything other than live tv or what I have recorded, so no films, catch up or any HD.
Complaint lodged end of October, endless calls to India, no use, and then finally flagged up to the UK 'Escalation Centre' who are very good at calling you with updates saying they are still working on it.

We have Bt Vision and broadband and they are constantly going off. the box broke through no fault of our own and they charged us for another whihc seemed unfair.
I also rented a film which went off half way through and 6 months down the line and several phone call and a written complain later we still have no refund!
The only reason we are still with BT is because our road cannot connect to Virgin and Talk Talk are worse ! If you can get Virgin and/or afford Sky. then go with… Read Full Review

Firstly, I didn't have any freeview channels until I bought an extra aerial as, unlike the other TV providers like Sky, BT do NOT install an aerial. I had to pay an additional £250 to get an aerial installed before I could watch "normal" TV.
The films are very expensive. Lots of bad 70s and 80s films like "Flashdance" or "Krull" cost £2.99 or £3.99. The "free" films are appallingly bad with nothing new or recent available.

BT Vision is good value for money and over the last 6-9 months has been adding more TV shows that you would normally get on boxset which is good. Sky Sports has been added now too so overall, its getting better although I don't believev its up there with Virgin just yet and there is no HD channels, not even the ones you get on Freeview?

Excellent quality, user friendly hardware. Series link remembers programmes that even I forgot I liked! Obviously no good if you want Sky movies or Sky sports, but we don't, and it's so cheap in comparison to Sky! The on demand rental stuff is handy too - especially when a lot of "catch up" type stuff is free. Wouldn't change it for anything else.
