I have just hit my Thomson 250GB very hard. It's Children In Need night and it's too frustrating to try and watch. We've given up and resorting to board games instead. It hasn't coped with the move to digital. Keeps freezing (more than every 3 minutes). I've tried about 12 times to upload all available channels, and can't even get terrestrials like BBC2! I agree with previous comments - PLEASE DON'T BUY THIS WORTHLESS PIECE OF JUNK - YOU'RE WASTING YOUR MONEY!!! I wish I had consulted... (read more)

Absolutely dreadful equipment. If Thomson go out of business they deserve to on this showing. It is unbelievably difficult to use: if you want to record something you can't just select it from the simplistic, pixelated EPG which is difficult to read and navigate, you have to go from there to the separate timer to programme the recorder. The buffer which should allow you to pause live TV doesn't work (although it pretends to). As soon as you press play again it just plays live TV, losing... (read more)

Initially worked OK but over time lost more and more functionality, eventually losing our 4 year old's favourite recorded programmes. Don't waste your money on it! (read more)

This is my second one i've owned the first one blew up.The problem is that it always freezes when you delete anything. I wouldn't bother paying for one too unreliable and temperamental. PLEASE DON'T TOUCH THIS MACHINE WITH A BARGEPOLE. (read more)

disgusted with Thompson - if and when it works they do not update the program calender so the programming ahead is hit and miss and completely forget series programming half the time there is no series link on so it does not record the next episode.

My Thomson DVB 250 box is normally left on. Untouched by me, it is now going through the boot up cycle but never completes to stand-by status. I've tried the usual un-plugging several times to no avail. Can anyone help please? (read more)
