    Good Points: Operating screens seem OK but I've nothing to compare with - yet.


    Bad Points: As above, what's the point of making something so flimsy that it breaks when you connect it up.


    General comments: The Alba STB 8 Worked OK for a short while then, when reconnecting the coax lead, the socket at the back just fell off! No way to fix it, though I tried, so the thing is useless and the whole lot has to go in the bin.

    I purchased an Alba STB 8 from Tesco in July 2007, which overheated and burned out in December 2008, while on standby.
    I am informed by Tesco that it has no intrinsic value and has exceeded its estimated lifespan.
    Regardless of the price paid, I would have expected a better outcome.
