Good Points: Lots of great colour photos. For absoloute beginners, gives a good insight into what kinds of things you will need to think about when designing your aquarium.
Bad Points: Its a small book and contains only a small number of fish - not suitable for experienced aquarium keepers!
General comments: Gina Sandford, An Essential Guide to Choosing Your Tropical Freshwater Fish has helped me when choosing fish for a community tank, as it clearly states the fish's requirements (Temp, PH ETC) and clearly states if they need to be in schools or can be singular. It does give behaviour patterns for most fish including there preffered location (Top, mid, bottom ETC) which can help vary a display.
Some of the fish in the book, aren't available through some retailers and most retailers will offer lots of fish, that are not in this book. If you've already got some fish, and are looking to get a bigger tank, or add fish to current tank then speak to the retailers about compatible ones, rather than relying on this book!
