Summary
The HTC S743 is a new smartphone from T Mobile with an unusual look to it. It has a slim slider body with the keyboard hidden underneath the main screen
Pros
Built in 3.2-megapixel digital camera ; Bluetooth capability ; Ability to make video based calls ; Includes the Windows Mobile package (operating system), which allows the use of Windows based applications designed for mobile phones, including Media ...
Cons
The HTC S743 comes with a pretty heavy price, and should hit the US market in the beginning quarter of 2009. (The price should range anywhere from $400 to $500, which many might consider a little bit high, particularly since the phone is not a touch ...
Verdict
The HTC S743 comes loaded with features. It is versatile and easy to use, and fairly rugged considering its slick style.
Summary
A chic alternative to the more mundane BlackBerry Curve, the HTC S740 ($550, unlocked, as of 4/9/2009) holds appeal for those who prefer a physical keyboard to a touchscreen. This slim, eye-catching smartphone has a clean interface and a spacious ...
Pros
Excellent full QWERTY keyboard Slim design
Cons
Mediocre camera Unreliable call quality
Verdict
The HTC S740 has everything you could want in a messaging and e-mail powerhouse: A fantastic keyboard, a slick operating system, and slim design. If you can tolerate mediocre call quality, the HTC S740 (or S743, when it debuts), is an excellent buy
Pros
The HTC S743 packs in a full QWERTY keyboard while keeping a slim design. The Windows Mobile smartphone also offers Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, GPS, and U.S. 3G support
Cons
The S743 is expensive. Call quality and GPS performance could be better. The microSD expansion slot is located in an inconvenient place
Verdict
The HTC S743 packs a full-featured smartphone into a compact design, but the unlocked handset isn't cheap, which will make it a hard sell when compared with the competition.
The Samsung i900 Omnia is very stylish and smart... a bit irritating when you gotta use the pen all the time, but it's ok... very easy to use and quite user friendly.. It does heat up and has a very poor battery life... as well as not having full 16gb memory... my omnia has 1gb on board memory and 8gb by memory card. Has an excellent camera and a nice big screen... good touch screen... nice gps... great windows... love all the features this phone offers. Will recommend it...
This is actually my 2nd review of this phone, but can't find a way to update the original....
..... I'm downgrading my review after a few months of use. It has now been back for repair twice, once for the common speaker issue and now for a cracked LCD screen. A Warning to all - NO DAMAGE TO LCD SCREENS IS COVERED BY WARRANTY. I think this is illegal so am fighting it, but at the end of the day I am very careful with my phones, there is not a scratch on it, but the screen...
This is, by leaps and bounds, the best smartphone I have owned to date. The display is bright and large, battery live is excellent and the full QWERTY keyboard is a double-whammy as it does away with the multiple button pushing of old and predictive text is a thing of the past!
Upon viewing the E71 appears larger than most other phones as a result of the 39 buttons required for writing texts/emails, but the added width is in fact minimal, and not noticeable when it's in your pocket....
I cant wait until I am out of contract to buy a blackberry.
