I travelled with Peltours from the UK to Taba Heights and stayed at the Taba Heights Marriott Red Sea Resort which was fabulous. The flights were Saturdays which was ideal and i enjoyed the extra leg room seats - well worth paying for. The hotel is right by the golf course and only 5 minutes walk from the Clubhouse. I booked my golf before I travelled and saved money by doing so and bought a package of 4 x 18 holes through Peltours, the travel company. They booked all the Tee Times for me which was excellent and I took my own golf clubs. The course is stunning, absolutely stunning. Amazing to see all this green grass and water in the middle of the desert, but the views across to Jordan are sensational. The course is not easy but also not so tough that it is daunting. The driving range is excellent and I really enjoyed it. As for the cost, it is considerably cheaper than Portugal and Spain to play golf out there and of course, the massive advantages are that the weather was in the 80's every day (even in January) and it is a non-Euro destination. The hotel staff are exceptional and make you feel so welcome.

There are no bad points really except that it is important to know that you pay a bit more than at home out there for wine in the hotel. Also, the resort is very small which is part of its appeal - but it does mean there is only the one golf course. However, don't let that put you off.

If you haven't tried it, do so.Egpytian people are very welcoming. This resort is terrific value and golfers will love it - you can even enjoy the beach if you are travelling with non-golfers as the hotels are beachfront and have spas and massage too.I have been to Egypt many times as well as Europe golfing, and this is the best resort so far and the best value. And the golf course itself is exceptional.
