Bad Points: No support, Not Region free or play VCDs need firmware

General comments: Overall, if you can get the Tredex TX-3050e to play all, the quality is good.

I have owned my Tredex TX-3050e DVD player for almost 3 years now, and I have never had any trouble, except when I bought it from Auction World it would not play VCD's, but after Tredex sent me the firmware update on a disc; it plays anything I can throw at it now. After 3 years I still have no complaints.

I bought my Tredex TX-3050e DVD Player from a tv auction site. They say a fool and his money are soon parted. I'm the biggest fool walking.

If it has played 20 dvd's thats a lot..it won't even play brand new films straight out of the box.

Contact tredex for help you'll be lucky to get one answer..I was told clean the laser or the disc.

Neither worked..they could'nt be bothered to reply to my enquiries after that.

The 5.1 decoder is useless try and ask tredex for info on that and you ...

I too bought my Tredex TX-3050e from Auction World at a great value for money price.

I too want the driver/firmware to enable my 3050E to be able to play VCD and SVCDs.

The Tredex site has been down all weekend and I was wondering if anyone has the driver that they could send me. If so, could you send it to grant.massie @ virgin.net (remove spaces before and after @ - to stop spam!)

    Many thanks

I also have the ktc dv-2hp 4.66t but it was in a jnl 7003 dvd player it plays dvd vcd svcd mp3 all regions and blocks macrovision.
The only bad things i can say about the Tredex TX-3050e dvd player is it will no longer work first it stoped playing dvds and after I tryed to reinstall the firmware upgrade cd to fix this
nothin would work not even eject.
It will play vcd when i put this drive in my pc.
And trying to find out more brings me to this site.

Bought the machine for £80.00 inc post from Auction World.I wanted to put the player through my own 5.1 amp nearly threw the instruction book away, aside from that when I discovered how to do it it was easy.Take the scart lead and plug into player and tv as normal, then take a coaxial digital lead if your amp is compatable and take from the player to your amp. Go into the audio set up menu,(the player is set to analogue as default)click down with the arrow keys on your remote until you see s ...

So far I am very happy with this product. If I had taken the time to read the instruction book I could have saved myself a lot of time and effort.

I bought it from Auction World for £81 including delivery which is a fantastic buy for the quality of playback and all the functions and more than you would expect. I use the Jpeg option to view folders of Jpeg photos on my TV. This gives the best results I have seen from my Digital photos.

I too got my DVD from Auctionworld, after waiting a month.
I read welshblokes review and totally agree.
My problem is the update to accept VCD as I cannot get the file to CDR so that it works at all. I get a Real Player Metafile or something which the machine cannot read and I get a no disc message.
Any help welcome or if welshbloke reads this, can I sort out a copy of your CDR?

I bought this off auction world - and while I waited for delivery wondered if I'd done the right thing...I'd seen some good reviews and some bad. But £90 + postage seemed a good deal.
Delivery did take longer than I'd hope (just over 2 weeks).....and on arrival I connected it and insert a karaoke CDG - no picture....a click on the remote control and there it was. And so much better than our Goodmans CDG player.
Onto DVD's - no problem there - and good picture quality too.
    Hmm - ok - how ...

Ok so i'm reading these rave reviews about how it play's the whole lot VCD,SVCD,MP3,JPEG, Karaoke. Lets write 2 of these off straight away!! Lets face it who is going to do Karaoke on this Not many European's and as for Kodak pic CD's well who the hell can be bothered keep in mind a majority here.
So we are left with VCD, SVCD and MP3 not to mention that it will accept CD-R and CD-RW again. The latter is not worth mentioning unless you are so poor not to purchase even good brand name CD-R discs ...

This Tredex TX-3050e is the best DVD player i have seen. As well as playing all the formats currently available, it also has two microphone jacks, which make it suitable for karaoke at home or in the pub. 'Brilliant' is not too over the top. I bought this from a tv auction site for £90 and the value was stated as £200, I can believe it.

The Tredex TX-3050e DVD player is slim, very attractive and plays fantastic quality DVD/CDR/MP3. It is a real price bonus as it's a multi-region DVD player.
