Cala Llevado is a cracker of a campsite. It's clean, well maintained, quiet and nowhere near as expensive as most French sites I've visited of similar quality. We are a family of 6 with younger children and although the beach is a bit of a hike (about 20 minutes walk) it is absolutely beautiful. The pitches can be tight but if you speak to the campsite they'll do their best to ensure that you're accommodated. This is a site that enjoys a population of mixed nationalities and hence is friendly, informal and well mannered. Disabled access may be an issue but this is mostly due to the sites' topography as opposed to provision of facilities. The supermarket is well stocked and the snack bar/restaurant is competitively priced with a small beer costing around 1.80 Euros and a burger or calamaris costing 3/4 Euros. (Bear in mind that the same beer in France on the way home cost me 2.80 Euros or 5.60 Euros for a pint)!!! Consider sailing from Portsmouth to St Malo and give yourself a stopover near Bordeaux. Alternatively Santander and stop over around Zaragoza. Driving in Spain is cheaper but the ferry is a big hit to Santander.
