Having not lived in the area for long, I went to the scotch bonnet before going to the pictures and found that the food was very nice. I've read the other reviews and definently didn't experience any of the problems. Restaurant was warm, staff were friendly, food was well cooked and did not seem to be processed or instant. Waiting time was good, if your looking for a resaurant that gives you lovely food at a good price then I would recommend this place. It is not a five star fancy restaurant... (read more)

GO TO SCOTS BONNET AT LEAST ONCE A MONTH AND HAVE NEVER HAD ANY COMPLAINTS. WHEN WE WENT THIS TIME THERE WAS A NEW MENU AND IT IS GREAT. THE GARLIC PRAWNS ARE TO DIE FOR AND HUBBY GOT THE PERFECT STEAK JUST AS HE REQUESTED. WE HAVE TRIED ALMOST ALL ON PREVIOUS MENUS AND WILL WORK OUR WAY THROUGH THE NEW ONE. IT IS GOOD TO SEE THE MENU CHANGING INSTEAD OF RELYING ON THE SAME ONE ALL THE TIME. IT WAS HALLOEEN AND SOME OF THE STAFF MADE THE EFFORT TO DRESS UP AND WE HAD A GOOD LAUGH WITH... (read more)

Having order my starter i had to send back as this was cold to top it off when my main meal came this also had to get sent back as was cold and i could not wait for another one as we were booked for the cinema. I would not recommend and will certainly not be back. I was told they did not have a even have a quailfied chef in from a member of staff this is unexcepable.
It was just myself that sent meal back another person near to us done the same. My recommendation is GET A QUAlLFIED CHEF ON...

We booked for christmas dinner for 13 people. We were seated in what must have been the coldest part of the pub. None of the four or five radiators close to our table were working. Our soup was served after about 45 mins, and it was warm but certainly not hot. I complained about our seating in a cold area and was told that there was nowhere else that we could be seated. When I pointed out that we were paying over £500 for our meals, we were eventually re-seated in a warm part of the pub. we... (read more)

I visit the Scots Bonnet on a regular basis with my family and every time they don't disappoint me. The service we get every time is nice with the staff always looking after our needs. The table service makes life so much easy for us as we can't be bothered ordering at the bar and then having to go up and down to order. The food is always great with the Balmoral chicken being my favourite and my sons enjoy the burgers.
This is such a pleasant place to go either as a couple or with a...

Tonight was my first visit to the scots bonnet as I had seen it advertised in my local paper, I wasn't aware that the hungry horse had changed. I must admit there was a huge improvement in the place. the waitress was very polite and friendly and seemed genuinely interested in my wifes well being, my wife is pregnant and so is the waitress. The food was tasty but the presentation was a bit poor. Value for money was good. We were offered a sneaky peek at the new menu and after looking at it... (read more)

We were greeted plesantly and staff efficiant and polite....the food was VERY VERY disspaointing, the chicken was certainly NOT fresh it was tough and very dry and this was even with the bbq sauce and the adult portion would leave a child hungry
this was our first visit and most certainly will be our last...in future will go to the fast food resturant accross the road

I was invited to a family birthday here and after reading the reviews I was dreading going however I was pleasantly surprised when I arrived. My first impression was of a smart well run restaurant, the decor is clean and tidy and the place was very busy so it appears very popular. There are small TV's on the wall next to the tables which I could have done without but overall the place was very good. There were nine of us eating there and every one of us cleared our plates and had no... (read more)

Tried The Scots Bonnet as short of time and it was en route. waited few minutes as chap at front desk was on phone (nobody else came forward even though staff saw us waiting). shown to small side table, even though many others were empty, which we refused. suggested table at window which we got. waitress came for drinks & food order even though we had barely opened menu. order given but waited over five minutes for drinks to come. family who sat down after us were actually served there... After having been at The Scots Bonnet nearly once a month since its opening we were very pleased to find that the quality of service and pub food to be satisfactory, we took all our family and friends as it was a lovely warm family environment. But sadly we have noticed that this has been slowly failing over the months since the opening. On our last visit the night before we left for our holiday we were very sadly displeased with the service the instance went like this "we entered the... (read more)

We have tried this restaurant twice within about 3 weeks of each visit. The first visit was spoilt by the fact that the food was barely warm and staff did not come round to check if all was ok. My meal was a steak which was ok but was accompanied by a small piece of over grilled tomato and a baked potato that was barely warm and was brick hard and totally dry..... not even any butter. My wife's meal was a let down too and again was barely warm. As this restaurant is just outside our local... (read more)
