I got this Nokia 3510 phone as a christmas present last year. I smiled at my parents, but inside I was screaming. I hated it. It looked like a Duplo Lego piece. I preffered my old 3330 to this! Basically the alarm that wakes me up sounds like a fire bell, not good, since I go to boarding school! The ringtones are well, not the best! Theres no composer!!! And well.... I'm never getting another Nokia again! Getting this horrible monstrosity out is almost as dramatic as Crossroads! And yes, it really is this bad! I have no respect for the designers of this phone, and my next one is to be a Sony Ericsson T610, since the 3510 breaks down whilst speaking to people on it, and whilst playing and texting!

This phone is terrible. It looks like 'My First Mobile' for 3yr olds. I'm ashamed to get this thing out in public.
Massive, ugly, silver buttons. Navy Blue front, Baby Blue back, clear sides and a nasty Slime Green on/off button on the top. All in a lovely, cheap plastic finish. An aesthetical disaster. Unless you want to look more camp than a row of tents, you're forced to buy a new facia. Good marketing ploy, Nokia.
The Polyphonic ringtones are so high pitched, dogs' ears bleed when it rings. I have no choice but to keep it on 'Discreet' so that I don't annoy anyone within a 15 mile radius.
The alarm on it sounds like a fire alarm which is great to wake up to in the morning - puts me in a great mood for the day.
To top it all off, the battery keeps cutting out halfway through any texts I try to send. Cracking.
A must buy for any fat fingered, hard of hearing, tasteless people who don't like sending texts.

I have a 3510 and it does what I want in a cheap phone. Battery life is very good. I use the Wap quite a lot and can send email from the phone. True the ringtones sound poor. One advantage IS the large buttons.

<br>My real comment is, however, if you hate the phone so much, why did u buy it?

I completely agree. In fact this phone is so baad, that I am getting the old 'rents to get me a new one for Christmas. Really, the 3510 is that bad that getting it out in public is almost as dramatic as "Crossroads". Maybe I'll give to a hated relative at Christmas...

It's a great phone, I have one myself. I'd like to see you design a better one. Think about all the things it does rather than how it looks. Being able to talk to someone even when the're miles away from you, sending messages, WAP services, being able to ring 999 *FREE* if you come to any danger. Surely that deserves two points at least. You clearly expect far to much from a phone.

I like this fone. it's great!!! I like the colours of it (the back side ant the power button looks strange, but...I got used with it and now I like it ), I like the tones and I like its features. It's great, not expensive fone

I think you are being totally negative on the 3510. It's a great phone for the price that it's at, and there are few bad points. You say that the battery keeps cutting out. Did it ever occur to you that it may be your fault for ruining the battery in the first place? You probably over-charged it - I know no1 who has ever had this problem with a 3510 before. The cover you get with it may be disgusting, but are you really that stingy that you can't go and buy a new one for £10? I mean, you actually get to choose the colour and EVERYTHING! Some of the Polyphonic tunes may be high-pitched, but most of them are just at the right level. Well, Nokia aren't exactly going to make new ringtones just for one irritable person are they? If you got it upgraded, you should have been able to choose your new phone. If you didn't, it's not my fault. You should have stuck with your old phone if you are that picky.

I agree that the WAP facility on this phone is useful and all that, and to be fair to Nokia, I really like the way they map out the functions on their phones. I just can't stand the actual 3510 handset.
<br>In answer to your question, I didn't buy the phone, it was a free upgrade. I was so blinded by what a great deal they were offering me that I agreed to take the phone before I researched it. Entirely my fault, really. I've learn't my lesson now though.

Yes and a Ferrari is faster than a 1964 beetle. Obviously when something is more expensive you get more for your money worth. Oh by the way you give reception 4. I have never had better reception with any other phone than my 3510. (oh and I have had 2110 3110 5110 8210 6110 6150. )

Shame on Nokia as a market leader! Unless you're looking for a mobile phone that hangs all the time e.g. while typing sms, talking or scrolling, do NOT ever consider buying this Nokia 3510 mobile phone. The firmware flaw is not fixed even with the latest version. That trade off all the cool features. Don't be trapped!

I think that you are wrong in some of the comments that you made e.g, I think that this phone has enough features to satisfy anybody. Half of the features on the phone you wouldn't even use anyway. Not often you you need to use a stopwatch or a countdown timer. Then again eveybody has a different point of view on this phone and I fully accept your comments and will bear them in mind for buying a phone.

i bought the 3510 even though a lot of people said it had a HUGE flaw in the firmware that caused the phone to freeze when writing sms messages.
my phone has firmware v3.37 and has yet to freeze, stop, break down or any other thing.
it works. period.
the polyphonic ringtones that come pre-intalled are not fantastic but you can get them for free (as long as you have a wap account with your mobile provider) at www.digidots.co.uk.
The menus are the same as in other nokia phones (the pricier ones) and you get enough memory to store all the numbers you might need (and i need a lot!).
I miss SnakeII in the game menu and i cannot imagine why would anyone want to play the dancing game!
In a nutshell: i think this is a very nice phone, with a very nice set of functions, functions that come with a heavier price tag in other nokia models. if you can stand the younger-looking design you get a fun-looking and pro-function phone.

Well, as it seems Nokia believes that can be competitive by producing so many models. The Nokia 3510 mobile phone hasn't BIG differences with the other models of 3xxx serie. OK, it has polyphonic sounds etc.... So what??? I think that they just change the covers, add one or two features and... ta daaaaa... a new Nokia model!! Wow!! Ah, by the way, reception isn't the strongest point of this phone (as usual with Nokia phones).....
