Wetlands by Charlotte Roche is a unique book that's attracted a lot of interest because it is so outspoken and written by a young, up and coming writer. I bought it out of curiousity, after reading the first few pages in a book shop (and being totally appalled, yet hooked).
The book is outspoken, unflinching and unique, and even though it's quite revolting it's totally compelling. The narrator is shocking and honest, self-aware and totally perverse. This is not for those of a weak disposition! I think it's gross to the point of stomach-churning in parts. I wouldn't recommend if you're the queasy type, you won't be able to get through it!
