Good Points: Wonderful food combinations and a combination of cultures to provide food which is not easy to fine elsewhere.
Bad Points: Many ingerdients are hard to find outside London - a point which many cookery writers ignore. Some recipes are not quite complete - she does not explain the procedures well enough.
General comments: This is an inspirational cookery book and several of the recipes have become firm family favourites.I think there are short cuts and her approach is sometimes far too complicated. Often the same or similar results can be obtained more simply, but as a source of ideas for combining flavours, it is a real winner.

A cookbook for people who know a bit about cooking but aren't au fait with all of the middle-eastern ingredients and techniques. Simple recipes with new ideas are very satisfying!- Read Guest's review (35 words)

Fantastic recipes, they all work too. Some ingredients may be difficult to source but it's worth the effort. Well-written and as evocative as the food itself. The ice-cream recipes are particularly good. This is my favourite cookbook now.- Read proftournesol's review (65 words)
