Toilets on flight Kuala Lumpur to London Heathrow 9 February 2013 had not been thoroughly cleaned - early on in the flight I had to clean the toilet before use with my own antibacterial wipes. Lovely new plane and an otherwise good flight but oh so disappointing to find this lapse in hygiene. (read more)

I am flying from LAX to Perth via Tokyo and Kuala Lumpur. I have had no problems as of yet and am currently sitting at the airport in Malaysia headed to Perth. Everyone should stop complaining. Tried to pay for ticket bought online . Have some problem. Have to contact their customer service through phone. Waiting more than one hour near telephone. Our Rome flight cancelled, no apology or compensation offered. Also charged to change dates after we found out. 7 extra hours and 1 extra airport with 1 kid and 1 infant or a 20% refund! Oh and don't take a heavy pram/stroller were charged excess luggage! Seriously, where's the ability to make a decision based on what's in front of you rather than what the staff handbook tells you? I flew from Singapore to Kuala Lumpur on one of their delapidated old planes and as if that wasn't enough I got charged extra for having 2 kilos excess luggage. I was bafled. Seriously, I could just have bought 2 bottles of wine in the tax free and I would also have 2 kilos excess hand luggage. This is a nonsense airline and you get the impression they are near bankruptcy the way they try to get more money from you. (read more)

My Niece urgently needs to travel from Sydney Australia to the UK to see Her Grandmother who is gravely ill and desperately wants to see her great Grandaughter for the first time and last time before she leaves our world, But Malaysian airline refused to change the ticket unless she pays further 900 pounds sterling, that's as much as she paid for the ticket, also they refused to give her a refund, my Niece offered to produce a letter from the hospital's Doctor but they are not interested. Flew business class from London Heathrow to kuala lumpur yesterday and it was awful. I have a feeling the company is having serious financial issues (as I've heard before). At the check-in desks, many business class passengers were informed to "repack" and I was only 1 kg overweight for my hand carry luggages and they made a very big deal of it which was absolutely unnecessary. Very bad operation this airline, I was suddenly rejected my flight due to their internal overbooked transaction error, there was no information about the overbook until I reached to check in counter, and it was long queue, I was queue there 1.5hour to reach check in. afterwards, they forced to me to sign a document with RM200 to decrale NO more claim about this issue. they did not do any action, just forced to me to sign into the document. I recently flew from Auckland to KL using Malaysian airlines. I was 5kg over and they charged me $196.00 which I paid by credit card. I recently completed a return flight from London to Sydney via Kuala Lumpur with MAS. Although I did treat myself to business class, I must say the flights I had, (four in all) were great. Staff very friendly and helpful, from the ground staff to the air crew,. I had a nice relaxing flight, fantastic food , and the entertainment on offer was second to none. Will definitely use again, although it will be in economy, but from what other passengers have said I know the flight will be just as good (read more)

I am a Malaysian who lives abroad for many years and did my routine summer vacation back to Malaysia at 2011. So,I was fated to fly with MAS last year and flew Dublin-Heatrow-KL. Similar experience we had in late March this year. Missed the morning flight out of Manchester to Heathrow owing to fog in there. We got to Heathrow about 2 hours late and were booked onto the evening flight not that drastic we thought. How wrong we were 10 Hour wait with no offer from staff regards food or anywhere comfortable to wait [the seats in terminal not the greatest] as we are very senior citizens 73 and 83 it sure made up our minds not to use MAS International again. We flew economy to Bangkok recently from KLIA and we were happy to board a new plane with state of the art entertainment screen. After taking off, headsets were not distributed which prompted us to ask. We were told that the flight is too short and hence headsets will not be available. I am Malaysian and I can state here, I will not take another MAS flight for a long time or unless I have seriously no other choice! I would encourage you to seriously consider changing your bookings with MAS if you have any planned for your personal or work trips. Malaysian Airlines is the biggest scam of the decade. The flight from Kuala Lumpour to London was over 24 hours delayed and we missed our connecting flight from London - Copenhagen. On 25th march- 23.55 flight from KL to London delayed until 3.30. No reason given and no real apology. Got given a 20 RM voucher- only place open (from what we were told) could take it was Burger King- who had run out of most of their food and would not give full voucher value, claiming their prices on the board did no include tax. I was, am and will always travel with Malaysia Airlines. It's the best airline with great hospitality shown by their cabin crews. Delicious and tasty food are promised as they are also very flexible in terms of luggage allowance. The aircraft condition even though looks old but this shows the maturity of this carriage. I am a frequent flyer on long haul but have not flown with this airline previously. Excellent from start to finish. Great online check in and reception at KL airport. Here is my horror story concerning Malaysian Airlines. My girlfriend and I were set to fly out on 9:30pm December 15th, 2010 from Changi Airport to HKG. On Sept. 01, 2010, I traveled with my 5-month old baby from Frankfurt to Kuala Lumpur. During the flight, my baby cried a lot. A few passengers complained to me and to the crew. I flew with Malaysia Airlines on flight MH704 on Wednesday 10th February 2010. 30 minutes into this flight there was a sudden crunching sound underneath and all the oxygen masks dropped with the air stewards shouting out full scale emergency. My parents took a flight from hyderabad, India to hong kong. The flight was delayed by more than 14hrs. The connection was at kuala lampur to hong kong. There was no immediate connection , so had to wait for 13more hrs to catch the next available flight. They were promised a hotel for the night stay which they dint get at the airport. We were diverted to Amsterdam because of the Volcanic ash, we were then advised by the airline that we had to make our own way back to our final destination. No help at all from either the airline or the handlers, not even any compensation from the airline.
Dusgusting way to treat passengers.
Will never fly with them again and will advise anyone else not to fly with them also.

I had to wait a long time before being told the flight was delayed but then was kept informed, directed to a Hotel to change clothes etc., and provided with food and drink. Exceptional service! We were unable to check in online and thus were left with the luck of the draw for seats when we arrived at the airport to check in. The flights on the way to Bali was all right, the ones on the way back though was sub standard.
On the flight from Denpassar to Kuala Lampur they ran out of the one option for meals, which left only fish which my husband does not eat. They were not able to assist with an altenative and also ran out of just about all soft drinks half way into the flight.

My complaint is belated because we are stil awaiting response Malaysia Airline officials from HQ. We were delayed at O R Tambo (JHB - SA), sent from one boarding gate to another at opposite end of Airport without seeing any ground crew to explain why we were delayed. have spent hours o trying to get thru to this lot especially when their website was down for rework for MONTHS earlier this year and phone was the only option.in the end- nobody reliable or informed at any point ...total waste of money on international calls.
