Good Points: Great price. Upgradeable. Lots of features.
Bad Points: No CD writer
General comments: This Asus L8400-B laptop has been nothing but good to me. I purchased it with a PIII-650 and 128MB of Ram with a 12GB hard drive and 16MB video. It ran Windows XP ok but not fast enough so I upgraded the ram to 256MB and the video to 32MB. I also purchased a 40GB hard drive and now it runs almost anything I throw at it (exceptions being some of the more graphic intensive games). I would not trade it for another similar priced laptop. My back-pack DVD writer works great plugged in to the USB port.

I have been useing this notebook for almost a year now.
When i purchased it, I got the model with a P-III 500, 128 MB Ram, DVD, 12 GIG HDD, 14.1 TFT and 10/100 NIC / 56k MODEM
It was the greatest computer that I have ever used. I ran everything from Linux to windows NT, (2000, 98, 95, dos for a bit and BEos)
