    I agree that the Dell Studio XPS laptop on paper is good looking, high spec and value for money. However, as I have begun to found with top-end Dell notebooks (having lived with a few over the years) the quality of parts and the customer service is variable. I had 3 replacements sent over a 6 month period - maybe I was unlucky...
    The first one was delivered and never worked properly. After much painful service calls it was agreed that a replacement be sent. This one worked about 2 days before the hard drive failed. A new one was sent and replpaced. However once all the CDs, applications and drivers were re-installed there were many compatability issues with hardware - particulalr network/bluetooth. The network didn't appear to work properly with certain WIFI/WANS.. After 20plus service calls and two engineer visits it was agreed to send it back for another replacement. This one lasted 10 days before the screen began flickering and blue screens began to appear randomly. By this stage enough was enough and it was returned for a full refund. I have purchased a high end VAIO which although a bit more has yet to fail and I have had it 3 months. I think you get what you pay for.

    The Dell Studio XPS laptop is a awesome computer. The back lit keyboard is nice was one of the main reasons why i chose it over other laptops. It's very fast and i never have to wait for things to open or load ever. I get 2.5-3 HRS of battery life on 50% brightness and power save mode just web browsing. The only thing that i dislike is how hot/warm the bottom of the laptop get when just web browsing for more than 30 minutes.

    The Dell Studio XPS 13 has an excellent finish, good graphics if you take the dedicated graphics card, good cpu, good for all normal tasks.

    Go for it as you will adore the design. Alu. accents & leather! But this all comes at a fairly big price. For graphics its good. For gaming it is okay. For your daily chores it is excellent. Dell is improving. the laptops surely makes your head turn. Videos look crispier and bright. Overall a good buy.
