I had a C36 installed 3 & 1/2years ago, after 2 weeks it sounded like a ships fog horn each time the heating came on. Keston engineer visited 12 times in two months and replaced everything including heat exchanger. It finally failed completely on a Friday night! so no heat or hot water for the weekend. I phoned Keston and managed to get them to agree replacing the whole boiler. The replacement has had problems with the diverter valve not operating properly resulting intermittent warm "hot" water. they know the problem well and replaced a small part. 6 months later (then now of warranty) it went again and they replaced the same part(a capacitor) with a larger one which seems to have fixed that fault for now but cost me £75 call out. Now this boiler has just started making the Fog horn sound when the heating first comes on in the morning so It looks like I will be phoning Keston again. Keston have been bought out by ideal i believe but my advice is buy a Worcester or Ferroli anything but a Keston c36.

The Keston C36 is unfortunately the worst boiler I have ever owned. I have had mine for three years now and a succession of British Gas engineers have replaced all the parts at least twice. I currently am waiting for a new Heat Exchanger as I write in the cold with no hot water. I am not joking when I say I have averaged 15 call outs a year over a 3 year period. If anyone suggests to you that you should get a Keston boiler. I have one word of advice. Don't!

The C36 is totally unreliable and Keston do not take any responsibility as to the causes of the problems. Having had the boiler for nearly two years we have had a succession of engineers out, in total about 10-15 times, and still issues are cropping up, parts are replaced and we live in constant fear of having yet another weekend with no hot water and heating.

This boiler is completely unfit for purpose. We had a Keston C36 boiler installed 2 years ago and had innumerable (over 20) engineer visits since. It was eventually replaced under warranty and the new one does not work either. Certain components are clearly defective and the same parts have been replaced several times - apparently known problems according to some of their own engineers, which they are incapable of fixing.

Keston refuses to acknowledge that the boiler is not fit for purpose ...

I have some experience of boiler specification although they are usually specified by our consultants. However for the conversion and restoration work to my own house I specified a Keston C36combi. Stupidly I did not take advice.
Being painfully frank, from this experience, I have to say it is the worst boiler I have ever come across. It had ignition problems after one day and the part had to be replaced. It still continues to cut out at least once every two days. It sounds like you have a jet e ...
