    On the morning of 30 December I took my car to Evans Halshaw because I had a problem with the brakes & rear lights.

    That afternoon I called them and was told I needed a new caliper, pads & discs. I told them to carry on & do the work. Three days later I called again for an update, I was given a price for the work & they said they'd order the parts!

    On Monday I called AGAIN & I was told the car would be ready at lunchtime. But it wasn't because the part apparently hadn't arrived, again!

    After calling everyday for a week eventually they finished the work. To cut a long story short the work took 9 days!

    The reasons I was given were that apparently the computer said they had the parts in stock but when they came to take them off the shelf they weren't there, parts hadn't been delivered on time and also apparently they didn't have a technician available.

    I resented having to call them everyday to be told the car still wasn't ready, but that I should call back the next day. I seemed to spend ages on hold whenever I called for an update.

    I felt that the attitude of the service dept was that they were doing me a favour, I don't expect a red carpet but in my experience an honest, efficient level of service isn't impossible to achieve.

    This garage seemed disorganised and inefficient when I dealt with them, and also prices seemed expensive to me.
