we booked the hour and half mountain ride. when we arrived at the stables, there did not appear to be an adult in sight, kids got the ponies ready and decided who was riding who, and one was quite rude, give me your money now before you go. safety did not appear to be an issue, as a regular hacker i was concerned that one rider was wearing high heel cowboy boots and another had anunsuitable jacket left flapping open, which could have easily got caught on the trees. as an adult i coped with the situation but had i been in the position of leaving my child to ride i would have been very uncomfortable. the ride was ok, lots of walking. ponies ok.
