In this debut album Swift breaches the gap between country and mainstream music in a beautifully personal way. Each song is catchy, beautifully written and fantastically performed. While it can be said that the album is samey as some of the songs have similar instrumentals, i feel that the quality of the lyrics and clear personal bond that the singer has with each song makes up for this. You can give Shania Twain or Reba McEntire credit for making pop more coexistent with country music, but that was only to a degree of moderation. In Taylor Swift's full-length debut "Fearless", she does nothing but put full emphasis on the pop-oriented side of country and everything that makes you wish Christopher Columbus turned back.
