Good Points: This flute is really beautiful in its details, specifically at the joints. It has a good tone that sounds better and better as playing improves. Trevor James was unknown to me when I was introduced to this flute, but next to better-known brands like Yamaha and Gemeinhardt, its clear sweet tone wins hands down.

Bad Points: Hard to find any. The Cantabile that I have is 10 years old, and plays wonderfully with only 1 repad in that time. I hear rumors that more recent Trevor James flutes are built in Asia with the usual sacrifice to quality. But judge for yourself.

General comments: Overall, a darn nice flute. In my opinion, the solid silver headjoint is a must have, even for a beginner. You can appreciate a good tone from the start, without paying a premium "step up" price. I would have to say that the value for the money is hard to beat.
